Skills and Competencies 

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including financial modelling, business intelligence tools; exposure to data science is a plus
  • Strong analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills, with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and data quality, with the ability to validate outputs across multiple data sources and synthesize complex analyses into clear insights
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Office 365, with basic to intermediate proficiency in Power BI and familiarity with R and Python
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, able to clearly communicate insights to senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn, with the ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively both independently and in cross‑functional teams
  • Capable of managing and analyzing large datasets while providing reliable support for business planning processes and recurring deliverables
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education 

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or another quantitative field

Responsibilities 

The Financial Analyst will support Commercial FP&A processes, projects, and ad hoc requests from the Finance organization by undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Support month‑end close and variance analysis activities related to Market Coverage, First‑Time Issuers, and missed deals, providing insights into key performance drivers, while assisting with ad hoc requests and projects based on evolving business needs
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reports and variance analyses, highlighting key focus areas to support management decision‑making
  • Provide intermediate-level support for core business planning processes and deliverables—including budgeting and forecasting—by developing driver-based, presentation-ready outputs for review by senior management
  • Contribute to the development, input, and ongoing maintenance of Power BI dashboards, a core management reporting tool for the team
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders to build strong working relationships across the broader organization
  • Support the development of new reporting solutions and help identify key performance areas to inform management strategy
  • Perform financial and commercial KPI analysis by comparing actual results with budget, analysing historical trends, and identifying areas for improvement to provide value-added insights into business drivers
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by Finance leadership

About the Team

The Business Planning & Analysis team partners closely with Commercial stakeholders within Moody’s Ratings to deliver impactful analytics and insights. The team plays a key role in managing critical business metrics such as First Time Mandates (FTMs) and Market Coverage, while overseeing a variety of reporting processes related to business analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. As a member of this global team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple regions and contribute to initiatives that support strategic decision-making and commercial performance.
