PERC (Payments Ecosystem Risk & Controls) is a Visa organization responsible for identifying, managing, and mitigating risk across the global payments ecosystem. PERC partners with product, technology, and operations teams to design and operate controls, monitoring programs, and platforms that protect the integrity, security, and trust of Visa’s payment networks while enabling scalable and compliant business growth.
Essential Functions:
As a Senior Product Manager (Individual Contributor) at Visa, you will serve as a key product leader supporting the Payments Ecosystem Risk & Controls (PERC) organization. You will partner closely with business, architecture, and engineering teams to translate complex risk and operational needs into scalable, high‑quality platform solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with PERC business teams to understand requirements, pain points, and desired outcomes, and translate them into clear, actionable product solutions
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering on high‑level system and solution design, ensuring shared understanding of implementation requirements across stakeholders
- Lead feature grooming and refinement sessions to gather input on functional requirements, designs, dependencies, risks, and potential issues
- Decompose feature requirements into detailed functional and non‑functional requirements, including scalability, security, performance, and reliability considerations
- Author high‑quality user stories that meet the Definition of Ready for scrum teams
- Own and maintain the platform backlog, including prioritization, enhancement intake, and defect management
- Facilitate requirement finalization to support efficient platform development and predictable delivery
- Support Agile delivery execution by facilitating sprint demos, collecting feedback, and helping maintain a healthy sprint cadence
- Partner with engineering teams during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate solutions meet business and technical requirements
- Manage operational product responsibilities including access and data request SLAs, user management, and support queue oversight
- Communicate releases through release announcements and release notes, ensuring stakeholder awareness and readiness
- Create and deliver end‑user training and supporting documentation to drive adoption and effective platform usage
- Engage regularly with executives across business and engineering organizations to communicate product vision, progress, and trade‑offs
- Operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple time zones
- Apply and model Visa Leadership Principles, including collaboration, accountability, customer focus, and excellence in execution
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- Degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Must demonstrate longer-term strategic thinking and stay ahead of state-of-the-art curve to keep abreast with what's possible technically, operationally and professionally.
- Proven track record of managing and evolving a product portfolio and/or driving product vision and strategy
- Ability to collaborate with engineers in developing technical architecture, as well as leading commercial conversations with clients and vendors.
- Experience in the payments industry or financial services
- Strong understanding of system design and architecture
- Proven experience with Agile development methodologies
- Proficiency in using product management tools such as JIRA, Jira Align, and Figma
- Experience with UI/UX design and user experience research and testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Certified SAFe Product Owner
- Certified Scrum Product Owner
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 152,200.00 to 243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
