We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Operations Manager to lead our Systems Administration and Network Support team located in Hyderabad. This leader will oversee day-to-day operations, guide the team technically, and act as a key escalation point for infrastructure issues.
A central part of this role includes daily collaboration with our Niles-based Infrastructure team for global projects, operational handoffs, and coordinated support of production systems.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, proven leadership ability, and exceptional communication skills to operate effectively across time zones.
Responsibilities:Leadership & Management
- Directly manage 2 Systems Administrators and 1 Network Engineer in Hyderabad.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, career development, and active mentoring through regular technical guidance, feedback, and hands‑on support to grow individual and team capability.
-[FD1.1] Coordinate team workload, priorities, and support coverage.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the on-site leadership counterpart to the Niles-based Infrastructure Operations team.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, including escalation, coordination, and accountability for service delivery.
- Own availability, reliability, and operational health of assigned infrastructure services, including incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Technical Operations (Hands-On)
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for systems and infrastructure issues.
- Administer, maintain, and enhance Windows Server, Linux systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SQL Server, backup and recovery platforms, and Disaster Recovery planning/testing.
- Support hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
- Ensure high availability and performance across infrastructure services.
Global Collaboration & Operational Alignment
- Collaborate daily with Niles-based infrastructure teams on joint projects, operational handoffs, standardization, and escalations.
- Maintain strong communication and alignment across time zones and teams.
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the Hyderabad team’s contribution to global infrastructure initiatives.
- Own local execution of project tasks, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and documentation are met.
- Coordinate with U.S.-based technical leads.
- Ensure project work is translated into actionable tasks.
- Drive adoption of standardized global processes.
Soft Skills & Team Communication
- Communicate clearly with U.S. counterparts in technical and non-technical terms.
- Break down complex tasks into clear instructions.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Operate effectively with minimal supervision.
- Navigate ambiguity and proactively resolve issues.
Operational Excellence
- Apply ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize.
- Maintain and create documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Ensure infrastructure operations comply with corporate security standards, audit requirements, and risk management practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in systems/infrastructure engineering roles.
- 2+ years of leadership or people-management experience.
- Strong hands-on experience across Windows Server, Linux, AD, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, VMware, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience supporting global production environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure or cloud environments.
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with Database Administration
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms.
