We are looking for a high-velocity, hands-on Data Scientist II – Applied AI to help build and scale practical AI solutions within fast-moving business teams. This is a generalist role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data science, generative AI, product thinking, and execution.
You will partner closely with senior leaders, engineering, and business stakeholders to move quickly from idea, prototype, production. The ideal candidate is deeply curious about emerging AI techniques, proactive in shaping product decisions, and passionate about delivering measurable impact not just experiments.
This role is based in Seattle and requires flexibility to collaborate across time zones.
In this role you will:
Build and deploy end-to-end AI and data science solutions, including LLM-powered workflows and analytics pipelines
Rapidly prototype and productionize generative AI use cases (prompt engineering, retrieval-based systems, agent workflows, evaluation frameworks)
Translate ambiguous business problems into clear AI/data science problem statements
Design and implement evaluation approaches (offline metrics, experimentation, pre/post impact analysis, A/B tests where applicable)
Work directly with senior stakeholders to shape product direction, refine requirements, and prioritize high-impact use cases
Incorporate user feedback into iterative AI improvements and workflow redesign
Develop scalable data pipelines and reusable components using Python and SQL
Automate recurring reporting, evaluation, and decision-support workflows
Document prompts, workflows, experiments, and technical decisions clearly for internal sharing
Contribute to inclusive and responsible AI practices, ensuring clarity, transparency, and reproducibility
Qualifications and Experience:
2–5 years of experience in Data Science, Applied AI, or a related role
Proven experience building and deploying AI or data-driven solutions that delivered measurable business impact
Experience working in fast-paced, execution-oriented environments
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
Equivalent practical experience building and deploying AI/ML systems will be considered in lieu of formal education
Strong Python and SQL skills (data manipulation, transformation, experimentation support)
Experience working with large datasets and production-grade workflows
Familiarity with generative AI systems, including: LLM integrations, Prompt engineering, Retrieval-based workflows (RAG concepts), Multi-step or agent-based orchestration
Working knowledge of statistics and experimentation (regression, variance analysis, signal vs. noise, basic causal thinking)
Ability to design practical evaluation frameworks for AI outputs
Generalist mindset: comfortable spanning analytics, modeling, AI workflows, experimentation, and product thinking
High ownership and bias for action; favors rapid, iterative delivery
Proactive in influencing product direction and collaborating with senior leaders
Strong problem-framing skills able to break ambiguous problems into clear, executable steps
Passionate about emerging AI techniques and continuously exploring how to apply them
Clear communicator who can tell a concise story with data and AI outcomes
Flexible and comfortable working with cross-functional and cross-timezone teams
Highly collaborative and receptive to feedback
This is not a narrowly scoped role. It’s an opportunity to operate as a high-impact AI generalist shaping product direction, experimenting with emerging AI capabilities, and turning ideas into production systems that drive real business outcomes.
If you are energized by speed, ownership, and building practical AI systems that matter, we’d love to hear from you.
