Job Title Trade and Working Capital Sales role within Europe for Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), based in Madrid.

Team/Role Overview

The Trade and Working Capital Sales (TWCS) team fits within Citi Services, the global division that covers Trade, Treasury and Custody Solutions. The TWCS team within Citi Commercial Bank is a fast-growing team that originates trade opportunities for our commercial banking clients. The team focusses on double digit growth within the mid-corporate segment, by leveraging Citi’s comprehensive suite of Trade and Working Capital Solutions, working alongside product and structuring colleagues to bring global trade solutions to our clients. The TWCS team globally consists of international ambitious colleagues that can drive New to Bank and New to Trade Conversions.

What you’ll do

What can this individual expect to do on a day-to-day basis on a personal level? What is the purpose of the role? Will they work with global/regional/local colleagues/clients?

  • Proactively working with CCB Southern Europe RMs to drive business growth, owning trade deals from origination to execution, driving revenue realisation and being a point of contact for trade matters for CCB clients.
  • Foster productive working relationships with partner groups across regional/global teams, to build solutions based on clients’ needs. Work closely with CCB client facing teams to gather market feedback and relay to product teams for new product solutions.
  • Provide client-centric Trade solutions, combined with other product solutions that benefit client’s end-to-end Working Capital cycle and delivers client’s growth objectives in an efficient manner.
  • Lead initiatives including events that facilitate Citi in deepening client relationships and strengthening the Citi brand as an industry thought leader.
  • Adopt a risk-based approach balancing risk and returns of Trade products to ensure a progressive, sustainable and long-term growth.
  • Be part of a EMEA TWCS team for CCB and collaborate with the Global team for TWCS CCB on strategic projects that drive the strategy of the team.

What we’ll need from you

  • Understanding of full suite of Trade and Working Capital product propositions (Payables, Receivables, Trade Loans, Documentary Trade, Export Agency Finance) with its unique business drivers, policies, customer needs and market trends.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for effective presentations, pitches and conversions, taking end-to-end ownership to drive revenue conversion.
  • Ability to create longer term, trust and advisory-based relationships with the customers in the portfolio.
  • Team player - Demonstrates strong and visible leadership skills, fosters a collaborative culture and promotes the coaching & development of other colleagues across the Commercial Banking team. 
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in originating Trade Finance and Working Capital structures. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and CRM applications
  • Knowledge of UK Mid-Corporate segment preferred
