This role sits at the heart of our Fixed Income Derivatives franchise, contributing directly to our market presence and client relationships with traditional asset managers and real money accounts.
As a Director, Fixed Income Derivatives Sales Trader in our London office, you will play a pivotal role in driving client engagement and executing complex fixed income derivative strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your deep expertise in fixed income derivatives, fostering strong client relationships with traditional asset managers and real money accounts, and contributing to the growth of a leading global financial institution. You will be instrumental in translating market opportunities into actionable trading strategies for our institutional client base, ensuring seamless execution and superior client service.
Primary Responsibilities of the role
Drive client coverage and relationship management for a portfolio of traditional asset managers and real money accounts, focusing on fixed income derivatives products.
Originate, structure, and execute complex fixed income derivative trades, including but not limited to interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, options, and other structured credit products.
Provide market commentary, trade ideas, and bespoke derivative solutions to clients based on in-depth market analysis and understanding of client needs.
Collaborate closely with trading, structuring, research, and other sales teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and leverage Citi's full institutional offering.
Ensure rigorous adherence to all internal policies, external regulations, and risk management frameworks in all trading and client interaction activities.
Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the fixed income derivatives franchise by identifying new business opportunities and enhancing product offerings.
What we need from you
Extensive proven experience in a Fixed Income Derivatives Sales Trading role within a tier-one investment bank.
Deep understanding of fixed income derivatives products, pricing, market structures, and regulatory landscape.
Demonstrated track record of developing and managing strong relationships with traditional asset managers and real money accounts.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and formulate actionable trading strategies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field; a Master's degree or CFA designation is a plus.
