Visa is looking for a Director of Global Value-Added Services (VAS) Communications, working on external storytelling and thought leadership efforts. The ideal candidate will join a team of smart, driven communicators who develop stories that shape ongoing perception of the iconic Visa brand. In this role, you will help promote Visa's growing VAS business around the world, spreading the word about new and existing products and partnerships, and the value our solutions bring to clients. In your day-to-day, you’ll amplify product news, identify and pursue thought leadership opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and help shape public perception around key topics.
As a global team member, you’ll spend a good amount of time working with colleagues both here in the US and abroad to enable others to promote and support the Value-Added Services business. This includes identifying opportunities, sharing information, aligning plans and goals, and moving the communications agenda forward via strong business and media relationships.
The candidate will also:
- Support both day-to-day communications and high-visibility campaigns across Value-Added Services.
- Find ways to connect Value-Added Services to bigger trends or additional activities within Visa to tell higher-impact, higher-value stories.
- Operate with a global mindset and work with Visa’s regional communications teams, informing and supporting them on developments relevant across multiple regions.
- Contribute to and project manage communications plans, taking ownership of socialization and tactical execution - as well as outcomes and reporting.
- Create a variety of written materials, including but not limited to, press releases, blog posts, paid editorial and case studies.
- Manage data measurement agency to track KPIs and help compile key wins to showcase great work to internal stakeholders.
- Have experience turning data and research into storytelling and news opportunities.
- Have a digital first mindset and collaborate with the digital content team to leverage social media channels for campaign amplification.
- Develop relationships with key influencers and media covering relevant news areas and mine for new opportunities.
- Work with partners to manage third-party initiatives and announcements.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
- A mix of agency and internal positions.
- Financial technology/payment industry knowledge a plus, experience in product or brand comms a must.
- Creative, positive, collaborative and high-energy individual with an ability to execute.
- Comfortable taking ownership and driving the team forward on a daily basis.
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills; leads by influence and example.
- Established media experience and contacts.
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving skills; focused on delivering.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Works well in a fast-paced environment while delivering timely, high-quality work.
- Proactive, with ability to recognize opportunities and manage up.
- High-level of professional integrity and confidentiality.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 170,700.00 to 273,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
