Sr. SW Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and enhance web and database software applications using open source technologies to support Visas Legal, Compliance and Privacy business operations
• Configure and implement packaged applications and develop integrations with other packaged applications or custom applications in our ecosystem
• Review business requirements and develop detailed system architecture, technical designs, pseudo code and data flow documentations
• Work with multiple engineering teams and collaborate to deliver secure, high performing and scalable solutions within expected timelines
• Participate in code reviews of peers, develop best practices
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks or deliverables to maximize business impact or benefit more of the time based on business needs
• Experience with Cross functional collaboration with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to analyze system requirements, clarify expectations, and align technical solutions with business objectives
• Systems analysis and documentation, including reviewing existing applications, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and contributing to solution design and process improvements
• Hands on experience in Defect management, including triaging issues, performing root cause analysis, coordinating fixes with development teams, and validating resolutions
• Triage system or solution defects, perform root cause analysis and develop resolution plans in a timely manner
• Incident management and production support, including responding to system incidents, assessing impact, coordinating resolution efforts, and supporting post incident reviews
• Change and release support, assisting with testing, deployment validation, and ensuring system stability during updates
• Continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and operational processes along with customer satisfaction
• Work with minimum daily guidance to complete assigned tasks successfully

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
3 plus years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5 plus years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
3 plus years experience in software development, application implementation and support
Development experience using programming and scripting languages
Experience in system integration with 3rd party APIs, data exchange and use of encryption technologies
Knowledge of RESTful web services and frameworks
Familiarity with database architecture and design Ability to develop data models
Knowledge and experience in developing test strategy
Familiarity with configuring CI or CD pipeline using industry standard tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Maven etc. Exposure to defining and implementing best practices in using them
