Skills and Competencies
We’re looking for a curious, enthusiastic student who is excited to learn and contribute with an interest in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency in using the M365 product suite
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Interest and enthusiasm in technology, with an emphasis on AI to aid work
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proactive, showing initiative while knowing when to ask questions or seek guidance
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow professionally
- Previous internship experience or broad understanding of communications best practices – including for media relations, social media, etc. – is a plus
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business or a related field
- Graduation must be no earlier than February 2027
- Available to start immediately
Responsibilities
- Content creation and execution
- Help maintain engagement lists and databases, coverage tracking and monitoring data, etc. to support media engagement and other external communications efforts
- Assist with drafting, editing and proofreading and disseminating external communications content – such as media pitches, social media content, and presentations – adhering to organizational guidelines and standards
- Support the team in telling clear and engaging stories based on Moody’s offering of research, analysis, and solutions
- Support team members in the coordination and execution of communications projects and in meeting deadlines
- Relationship management
- Work closely with members of the Central Strategy and External Communications teams and other stakeholders across the company
About the Team
You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to enhancing strategic external communications and media relations. The team works closely with various departments to ensure effective communication strategies are in place, and they are committed to fostering a positive and engaging work environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic external communications and contribute to the overall success of the organization. External Communications is part of Corporate Affairs at Moody’s, which is comprised of teams focused on a range of stakeholder engagement responsibilities for the company.
Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June - August. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody’s business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real-world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.
