The Strategy Senior Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within the strategy function, supporting the development and implementation of strategies to grow the business. Analyze and assess implications for the business, and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess new opportunities, investments, and partnership projects.
  • Deliver regular global and country level competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Follow emerging industry trends and potential disrupters to segments and strategy.
  • Deliver specific ad-hoc analysis and tactical support in preparation for business and management meetings.
  • Demonstrate a significant grasp of the organization, the business, and the markets to deliver crisp and succinct executive-level responses.
  • Grasp key priorities and complex issues quickly for the larger organization and create clear written presentations/communications
  • Document findings of study and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
  • Interview personnel and conduct on-site observation to ascertain unit functions, work performed, and methods, equipment, and personnel used.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Plan study of work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis.
  • Confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in Financial Services.
  • Project planning and management experience.
  • Prior Consulting experience.
  • Understands consumer financial services businesses and operating model
  • Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
  • Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to work through a large, complex matrix organization; demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results.
  • Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Organizationally savvy; understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret. Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support and strengthen client asset regulatory practices within the APAC region for the Global Markets business, ensuring compliance with local regulations while aligning with global standards. The Analyst will provide critical oversight, insights, and guidance on APAC client asset processes as part of a globally connected team, helping to mitigate risk and maintain regulatory excellence. Over time, the role may extend to cover client asset practices for other business lines within the firm.

Job Background/Context

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailed orientated Analyst to support the Client Asset Regulation practices for the APAC region. While this role is based in Mumbai, you will be part of a global team headquartered in London, collaborating closely with colleagues across the United Kingdom (UK), Europe (EU) and Middle East and Africa (MEA) Clusters. The successful candidate will ensure that APAC client asset practices align with global standards and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the APAC region in implementing and maintaining client asset regulatory frameworks and controls, initially for Global Markets.
  • Assist in interpreting regional regulatory requirements and ensuring alignment with global policies.
  • Collaborate with the global team to ensure consistent application of client asset practices across the regions.
  • Conduct reviews and assessments of APAC client asset processes, highlighting issues and recommending improvements.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulators (if required).
  • Monitor APAC regulatory developments and provide insights on potential impacts to client asset practices.
  • Support internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries relevant to APAC.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a global team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
