Position Overview
The Finance Manager, Incentives & Data Analytics, combines core financial analysis responsibilities with deeper analytical work to identify, quantify, and explain revenue movements that surface as churn but are driven by downgrades, packaging changes, seller behaviour, or partner-led motions. The intent of this role is to improve the accuracy and credibility of churn-related metrics, support effective sales and partner incentive compensation design, and provide leadership with clearer insight into the underlying drivers of revenue change. The role is highly cross-functional and requires strong analytical rigor, business judgment, and the ability to translate findings into practical recommendations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Analysis Foundation
Perform ongoing and ad-hoc financial analysis in support of sales and partner performance measurement, subscription revenue trends, and incentive compensation programs
Analyse ARR, churn, net retention, bookings, and product mix across segments, regions, and routes-to-market
Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting used by Channel Finance, Global Commission Office, Sales Performance leadership
Ensure data integrity and consistency across CRM, billing, finance, and incentive compensation systems
Data Analytics
Identify and quantify instances of false churn, including but not limited to product downgrades, bundle-to-point-product shifts, seat reductions, contract restructures, and commercial reconfigurations
Distinguish true customer attrition from revenue changes driven by seller actions, partner behaviour, pricing, packaging, or incentive structures
Analyse downgrade patterns at the seller, partner, product, and segment level to surface systemic drivers
Partner with the engineering teams to identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies across churn, revenue, and incentive metrics, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reporting integrity
Partner with Sales Performance and Incentive Compensation teams to evaluate how plan design, crediting rules, and guardrails influence downgrade behaviour and churn signals
Provide analytical support for plan design adjustments, policy changes, and scenario modelling related to churn and retention outcomes
Support executive, operating, and planning reviews with data-driven insights and actionable findings
Present complex analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to executive and senior leadership through clear, concise narratives, executive‑ready presentations, and data‑driven storytelling that informs decision‑making and action
Required Qualifications
8 to 12 years of experience in finance analytics
Strong financial and analytical skillset, consistent with a Financial Analyst role in a large-scale subscription business
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI; working knowledge of SQL, Snowflake is preferred
Solid understanding of SaaS economics, including ARR, churn, retention, renewals, and product mix dynamics
Ability to work with large, complex datasets and reconcile insights across multiple source systems
Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in analysing churn, downgrades, or customer lifecycle metrics in a recurring revenue environment
Understanding of sales incentive compensation mechanics and seller behaviour dynamics
Comfort navigating ambiguity and developing structured approaches where definitions or standards are evolving
Work closely with Sales Performance, Sales Operations, and Incentive Compensation teams to support measurement, insights, and plan design
Collaborate with FP&A, GTM Strategy and RevOps to align on churn definitions, reporting standards, and financial narratives
Provide analytical support and perspective for leadership decision-making across quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forums
