This role is based in Richmond, VA.
As a key member of the Cybersecurity organization, you will lead the security strategy for Thomson Reuters' mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, ensuring that every transaction is evaluated, integrated, and secured. Your work will directly protect the integrity of the products and platforms that millions of professionals around the world rely on every day.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Director, Cybersecurity Mergers & Acquisitions, you will:
Lead end-to-end cybersecurity due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships.
Formulate comprehensive security risk assessments that identify threats, vulnerabilities, compliance gaps, and potential liabilities within target organizations.
Define and drive cybersecurity integration roadmaps that align with business timelines and risk tolerance.
Develop cost models and estimates for integration activities and ongoing security operations post-close.
Serve as the primary cybersecurity voice in M&A deal processes, communicating risk findings and recommendations to executive leadership, boards, and deal sponsors.
Build and continuously improve a repeatable, scalable cybersecurity M&A framework, including playbooks, templates, and assessment methodologies.
Manage multiple concurrent transactions with competing priorities, maintaining rigor and quality across all workstreams.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Director, Cybersecurity Mergers & Acquisitions if your background includes:
8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior advisory role.
Demonstrated experience supporting M&A transactions in a cybersecurity capacity, including due diligence, risk assessment, and post-close integration.
Broad knowledge across security disciplines, including network security, identity and access management, cloud security, application security, data protection, and governance, risk & compliance.
Experience defining cost estimates for security integration programs and ongoing security operations.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex topics with clarity.
