About the Role

As we modernize our ecosystem and accelerate our move to Oracle Cloud Cloud, Expedia Group’s Global Finance Technology (GFT) team are hiring a Distinguished Technical Oracle Program Manager to lead this complex, strategic finance transformation within EG.

In this role you will operate as a thought leader partnering with Engineering, PMO, and Ops owning the end-to-end lifecycle of this multi-year, cross-functional initiative—shaping tech strategy, supporting cross-functional execution, and ensuring sustainable business outcomes. You will use judgment, negotiation skills, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, deliver tech program roadmaps and strategies, eliminate non-value-add activities, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate delivery.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership & Technical Engagement

  • Lead the multi-year transformation roadmap for Finance systems (with primary focus on Oracle Cloud ERP and key boundary systems across billing, payments, tax, treasury, data, and reporting).

  • Partner with Engineering, PMO, and Ops leaders to anticipate bottlenecks, proactively seek solutions to problems, provide escalation management and tradeoff decisions that benefit the program.

  • Shape technical strategy and architecture alignment for Finance platforms with architects and senior engineering leaders, ensuring resilience, scalability, and alignment with EG-wide patterns and standards.

  • Set and drive organizational Technical OKRs and program-level KPIs for the Finance Technology portfolio, ensuring traceability from strategic intent to delivered value.

  • Provide a whole-systems view across structure, people, process, and technology, guiding where we standardize vs. differentiate Finance processes and platforms.

End-to-End Program & Technical Project Management

  • Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, cross-functional technology programs—from strategy and planning through execution, stabilization, and value realization.

  • Drive portfolio-level Engineering visibility into scope, dependencies, risks, and outcomes across Oracle Cloud ERP and boundary-system initiatives, maintaining a holistic view of impacts to Finance and adjacent domains.

  • Lead proactive risk and issue management, anticipating cross-domain impacts and orchestrating mitigations before they affect customers or financial results.

  • Manage budgets and resources at a portfolio level, aligning investments to strategy and ensuring delivery within agreed financial and capacity constraints.

Finance Domain & Compliance Leadership

  • Anchor programs in Finance outcomes across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Tax, Treasury, and related domains, partnering with Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Procurement, and FP&A.

  • Ensure solutions and processes are designed for compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SOX, ITGCs, and other regulatory requirements, in partnership with Controllership and Audit.

  • Embed control and governance thinking into program design (e.g., SDLC controls, access, change management, segregation of duties), ensuring audit-ready documentation and sustainable operations.

  • Champion data quality and reconciliation across ERP and boundary systems to support reliable reporting, analytics, and regulatory submissions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Leadership

  • Craft and deliver executive-ready communications (SVP, CFO, CIO/CTO, and their directs), distilling complex technical and financial topics into clear narratives, decisions, and trade-offs.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with senior leaders across Technology, Program/Product, Operations, and external partners, enabling faster decisions and more effective execution.

  • Mentor and influence other Tech Program leaders, raising the bar on tech program management excellence, agile/PDL practices, and strategic thinking across GFT.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify and drive step-change improvements in how Finance Technology plans, builds, and operates—leveraging automation, standardization, and modern platform capabilities.

  • Promote data-driven decision-making, using portfolio analytics, delivery metrics, financial impact analysis, and customer feedback to refine priorities and approaches.

  • Scan industry trends and best practices in ERP/cloud finance transformations and bring relevant ideas into Expedia Group, adapted to our context.

  • Inform and influence the Finance systems product roadmap, ensuring platform investments are aligned with long-term strategic, regulatory, and economic outcomes.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18+ years of tech program management experience in large, global enterprises or technology companies, with a track record of leading multi-year, cross-functional finance transformation programs.

  • 10+ years of deep experience in Financial systems and processes, including ERP (preferably Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud ERP), with strong exposure to at least two major domains (e.g., RTR, PTP, OTC, Tax, Treasury).

  • Proven leadership of complex ERP/cloud transformations, including migrations to Oracle Cloud ERP or similar SaaS finance platforms, and integrations with boundary systems (billing, payments, tax engines, data platforms, reporting).

  • Demonstrated experience operating at VP/C-level—preparing and delivering executive updates, leading steering committees, and driving decisions on scope, investment, and trade-offs.

  • Expert-level understanding of Finance and Accounting fundamentals, including GAAP/IFRS concepts, close processes, financial reporting, and controls (SOX, ITGCs).

  • Mastery of tech program management disciplines, including roadmap definition, OKRs, prioritization, dependency management, and risk/issue governance across multiple teams.

  • Strong technical fluency in modern software development and integration patterns (APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, testing strategies), enabling productive engagement with architects and engineering leaders.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and financial topics into clear, concise messages for diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, structuring problems, creating clarity, and driving progress in fast-changing, matrixed environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in travel, marketplace, payments, or e-commerce industries, especially where Finance, Tax, and regulatory complexity are high.

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Hands-on familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP Financials (e.g., GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Subledger Accounting) and integration with surrounding ecosystems such as tax engines, banking platforms, and data/analytics stacks.

  • Experience with process automation and analytics tools (e.g., RPA, workflow orchestration, Tableau, Power BI), and comfort using data to guide investment and prioritization decisions.

  • Background in Enterprise Architecture, with an ability to bridge long-term platform strategy and near-term delivery realities.

  • Track record of mentoring senior technical program managers and influencing organizational design, including how teams, processes, and platforms are structured to maximize business impact.

  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling governance frameworks, operating models, and delivery practices across global, distributed teams.
