About the RoleIn this opportunity as a Tax Content Analyst, you will:
Research & Monitoring
- Monitor changes to tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, forms, and official publications.
- Communicate with tax authorities to clarify requirements and support compliant content.
Content Implementation & Testing
- Implement and update tax content within our applications, delivering on established release/content deadlines.
- Design and execute testing procedures to validate content accuracy and software functionality; document results, verify fixes, and track outcomes.
Requirements & Systems Analysis
- Independently gather and document customer regulatory needs; translate them into clear, testable requirements and user stories.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to define workflows and acceptance criteria; support Agile delivery, SDLC processes, change management, and testing/implementation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Translate tax requirements into effective software solutions and seamless content integration with product and engineering.
- Support internal stakeholders and Customer Support with research and timely responses to client inquiries.
Project Contribution
- Manage your deliverables reliably—provide timely status, flag risks early, and support content initiatives of moderate scope.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and time‑to‑value.
You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:
Tax Compliance, Analytical, and Problem‑Solving
- Foundational tax knowledge applied to varied scenarios; ability to identify and resolve moderately complex issues with sound judgment.
- Experience researching straightforward to moderately complex tax issues; interpreting guidance, assessing impact, and recommending compliant solutions.
- Structured analysis skills to test assumptions and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
Research & Technology
- Proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g., ONESOURCE, GoSystem Tax, UltraTax) and research platforms (e.g., Checkpoint, government databases).
- Working knowledge of data structures and formats (e.g., CSV, XML, SQL); comfortable modeling calculations or requirements for development partners.
- Strong technical aptitude across tools—including emerging technologies such as automation and AI‑assisted features—to improve productivity and accuracy.
- Responsible use of AI and productivity tools to increase efficiency, with validation of outputs and documented sources.
- Adaptability to new tools, workflows, and evolving priorities.
Communication & Collaboration
- Ability to communicate tax results to technical and non‑technical audiences; tailor messaging and build shared understanding.
- Cross‑functional teamwork, task coordination, and constructive resolution of minor conflicts.
Organization & Ownership
- Strong organization and prioritization skills; consistent delivery against strict deadlines across multiple assignments.
- Ownership mindset for a defined area end‑to‑end, with transparent status and issue communication.
Customer Focus & Quality
- Anticipates customer needs within scope and translates feedback into continuous improvements.
- Adheres to QA standards; creates test cases, verifies fixes, and tracks quality metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science (required).
- Hands‑on experience in tax preparation/compliance or developing tax‑related content (e.g., corporate income tax, U.S. international tax, sales and use tax, VAT) preferred.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credentials preferred (or progress toward them).
