By being a part of our global organization, interns have the opportunity to work alongside our talented and committed professionals helping them to build a strong foundation for achieving their career goals. For 12 weeks, beginning May 18, 2026, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. United around a single goal of empowering smarter treatments and healthier people. Medidatians work in a culture of curiosity, innovation and fun. You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work.

Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.

About the Team:

The Portfolio Management & Customer Programs Intern will serve as a vital analytical engine within the Offering & Portfolio Management team, synthesizing complex product and customer data into high-impact executive insights that drive our global growth. By bridging the gap between R&D innovation and market value, you will directly enable Medidata’s leadership to make the data-driven investment decisions necessary to accelerate the delivery of smarter treatments to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities:

As a Portfolio Management & Customer Programs Intern, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Translation & KPI Development: Audit existing product data to identify gaps; build and maintain the "source of truth" dashboards that tell the story of our portfolio’s health.

  • Customer Programs Operations: Support Customer Program Operations by identifying high-value accounts and driving recruitment for Customer Advisory Boards, User Groups, and Experience Boards, while helping develop thought leadership and customer communications to drive engagement.

  • The "So What?" Factor: Don't just report numbers and customer feedback—analyze them and help tell the story. You will develop insights and recommended actions for leaders based on customer insights and performance trends.

  • Executive Support: Help "build the deck" for Quarterly Business Reviews (Domain Reviews). This involves synthesizing complex cross-functional updates into a cohesive narrative for leadership. Support development of Voice of the Customer (VoC) communications that capture and share customer priorities with Sales and Product leadership to inform solution development.

  • Market Expansion Research: Support ad hoc strategic projects that investigate "where we go next," whether that’s new geographic markets or untapped customer segments.

  Technical Requirements & Skills
  • Quantitative: High proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and experience with Tableau is a significant plus.

  • The "Strategic Lens": A fundamental understanding of business finance (P&L drivers, ROI)

  • Visual Storytelling: Advanced PowerPoint skills. You can take a messy idea and turn it into a clean, professional slide that an executive can digest in 30 seconds.

  • Research & Synthesis: The ability to take a broad question (e.g., "How do we expand in APAC?") and break it down into a structured research plan.

  • Domain Curiosity: You don’t need to be a doctor, but you should be fascinated by how technology is changing clinical trials and life sciences.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage two distinct workstreams (Product vs. Customer) with strong attention to detail and timely execution against fixed deadlines

Qualifications:

Rising Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Marketing Analytics, or a related field.

•      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate, and interpret data.

•      Excellent research skills and a curiosity to dig deep to uncover insights.

•      Ability to work independently and collaboratively, seeing tasks through to completion.

•      Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams.
