Introduction to the team
The Membership & Engagement organization builds the platforms and capabilities that power trusted, personalized, and connected travel experiences. Our work spans three core domains - Loyalty, Identity, and Messaging, each foundational to how travelers interact with our brands.
Loyalty delivers the value, rewards, and benefits that drive repeat engagement and long-term customer affinity.
Identity provides secure, seamless access and the unified traveler identity that powers personalization across the ecosystem.
Messaging ensures timely, reliable, and contextual communication across channels, enabling cohesive end-to-end journeys.
Our teams operate at scale and at speed, translating strategy into durable systems and measurable outcomes. Together, we’re enhancing travel by creating a sense of belonging that keeps travelers connected and coming back.
As a Technical Program Manager III, you will lead complex, cross domain initiatives that sit at the intersection of technology delivery, execution discipline, and organizational effectiveness. You will be responsible for driving alignment from strategy through execution, bringing structure to ambiguity, clarity to priorities, and rigor to delivery.
This role requires a leader who can navigate both deep technical programs while also shaping our operating model and influencing stakeholders through new ways of working. You will have strong stakeholder managements skills and be comfortable working closely with engineering, product, data, and business leaders to ensure outcomes are delivered predictably and at scale.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex, cross-functional technical programs from inception through launch, aligning engineering, product, data, and operations stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes across multiple services or platforms
Define and drive program structure, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success metrics, to enable predictable, high-quality delivery across technical workstreams
Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to translate product and technical strategies into executable plans, incorporating system design, API design, data modeling, and operational readiness
Use data to inform decisions by establishing and monitoring program KPIs, building or leveraging dashboards and reports, and adjusting plans to mitigate risks, remove blockers, and optimize impact
Continuously improve technical program delivery processes (intake, prioritization, planning, execution, and post-launch review) to increase throughput, reliability, and quality across domains
Collaborate with teams leveraging AI/ML capabilities to safely integrate and operate AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows that improve delivery and customer outcomes, and apply AI/ML concepts to real-world Expedia Group products and platforms
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a highly technical organization
5+ years of relevant professional experience managing programs of significant scope and complexity
Experience driving end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs involving multiple components, services, or teams in a large-scale product or platform environment
Demonstrated ability to partner closely with software engineers, architects, and product managers, with sufficient technical depth to understand system design, API contracts, data models, and trade-offs in scalability, reliability, and performance
Proven track record of structuring programs with clear scope, requirements, schedules, and success metrics, and communicating status, risks, and decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, including safely integrating and operating AI/ML enabled solutions that improve delivery or customer outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading multi-team or multi-service technical programs in a high-scale, distributed systems or platform environment, including managing cross-domain dependencies and long-running initiatives
Background collaborating with engineering leadership on technical roadmaps and architecture evolution, including sequencing system design, API design, and data modeling changes that support future capabilities and operational excellence
Demonstrated use of data, experimentation, and post-launch analysis to guide trade-offs, optimize program delivery processes, and measure impact of launched capabilities at scale
Hands-on experience working with teams building or operating AI/ML enabled features or platforms, including safely integrating generative AI or machine learning capabilities into existing systems, managing associated risks, and using AI tools to improve program planning and execution
Familiarity with modern technical program management practices and toolsets for complex software delivery (e.g., agile at scale, dependency and risk management, incident and postmortem processes), with a focus on improving reliability, quality, and speed across engineering domains
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
