Skills and Competencies
6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience building and operating production-grade systems.
Strong proficiency in C#/.NET or Java, with a solid grasp of object-oriented design and clean coding practices.
Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Proven ability to own features end-to-end across the full software development lifecycle.
Experience building cloud-native applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Strong problem-solving skills with a foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and APIs that form the core of a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
Take ownership of significant components, driving delivery from technical design through deployment and production support.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in C#/.NET and/or Java, setting high standards for quality.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
Contribute to architectural discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to continuously improve platform quality.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
Promote best practices for scalability, reliability, security, and observability in cloud environments.
About the Team
The Platform Engineering team at Moody’s Insurance Solutions builds the foundational services, infrastructure, and tooling that power our SaaS products. The team partners closely with product engineering groups to enable faster delivery, higher quality, and long-term platform scalability. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping backend services that support our growing insurance technology ecosystem.
