Software Engineer (Full Stack)
As a Software Engineer (Full Stack) you will join our pivotal Forward Engineering team responsible for reimagining critical TR business functions by developing enterprise-grade AI systems that deliver measurable business value. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will work closely with senior functional leaders to facilitate end-to-end optimization of business processes and workflows through development of scalable, AI-first solutions.
About The Role
As a Software Engineer (Full Stack), you will be hands-on in designing, building, and delivering innovative AI-powered solutions leveraging platforms such as Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Google Gemini, drive technical strategy and embed within CIO particularly Employee Technology Services (ETS) Team to reimagine processes and accelerate TR's AI-first transformation.
Build & Design AI-Driven Systems
- Define technical standards and best practices for rapid prototyping and lead solution discovery
- Hands-on design and prototyping of complex, enterprise-scale AI-driven systems leveraging multi-model architectures (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama) for employee productivity, M365 Copilot extensibility, and internal workflow automation
- Personally build engaging front ends using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, including Microsoft Teams apps, Copilot extensions, and employee-facing AI interfaces
- Directly develop robust back-ends with Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and cloud infrastructure, including API design, data modeling, and multi-platform AI service integration (Claude API, OpenAI API, Gemini API, Microsoft Graph API)
- Embed directly with prioritized business units, including Employee Technology Services (ETS)—to develop deep domain expertise in M365 ecosystem, employee productivity platforms, and IT service management, while building stakeholder relationships
- Partner with business leaders, functional SMEs, and product teams to co-create solutions and drive adoption
- Document solutions and architectural decisions for knowledge transfer and capability building
About You

Required Skills and Experience
Core Engineering Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
- 5 YOE of hands-on software engineering experience across the full stack (we welcome engineers who are stronger in front-end or back-end but have demonstrated capability in both)
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced environments
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders
Cloud & Infrastructure (Required)
- Deep, production-level experience with Azure (preferred) or AWS - you should have designed, deployed, and operated systems on at least one of these platforms, including Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Studio, or AWS Bedrock
- Experience with cloud orchestration and infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar)
AI & Machine Learning (Required)
- Proficiency in Python and practical experience working with AI systems, including:
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) across major AI platforms, including Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot/OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Meta Llama
- Experience building or integrating AI agents, agentic workflows, AI-powered coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini Code Assist), and enterprise workflow automation (ServiceNow, Jira)
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks and AI platform SDKs (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Anthropic API/SDK, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Google Vertex AI, or similar)
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)
- Demonstrated expertise integrating AI models and services from multiple providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft) into production systems using APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-native architecture
- Basic understanding of vector databases and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns
Data & APIs (Required)
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints
- Hands-on experience with both SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB, or similar)
- Understanding of data modeling, database design, and optimization
Security & Best Practices
- Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or similar)
- Knowledge of security best practices including secrets management and secure API design
Bonus Points
Advanced AI/ML Experience
- 4+ years of experience leveraging advanced AI/ML frameworks and enterprise AI platforms (Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, Claude Enterprise, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI) in production systems
- Advanced knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, pgvector), embeddings, semantic search, and information retrieval systems
- Experience with prompt engineering, AI development tooling, and management platforms (LangSmith, Anthropic Workbench, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Google AI Studio, PromptLayer, or similar)
- Experience with AI governance, model risk management, and regulatory compliance
Infrastructure & Scale
- Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, Azure Service Bus, or similar)
- Experience with serverless architecture (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda) and Microsoft Power Platform
Observability & Quality
- Production experience with APM and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Application Insights, or similar)
- Experience implementing comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e) using modern testing frameworks
- Knowledge of distributed tracing and logging systems (OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack, CloudWatch)
