Work you'll do/Responsibilities
The project involves leading several engineering teams in the development and enhancement of a next-generation, AI-driven platform for a major financial services client. The primary objective is to accelerate the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and improve engineering efficiency by leveraging Gen AI tools and advanced automation. The scope includes building scalable backend services, integrating with internal and external APIs, and establishing a robust, secure, and resilient infrastructure on a cloud platform.

Engineering as a Service provides complete design, implementation, and technology operations, leveraging our core engineering expertise. We transform engineering teams, modernize technology, and deliver complex programs with a product engineering approach. Our flexible delivery models-traditional teams, pools, or pods-are tailored to each client's needs, offering engineering-led advisory, implementation, and operational capabilities to accelerate innovation.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New Jersey , Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Colorado and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,000 to $198,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

- The Engineering Agility Lead will guide and empower multiple software engineering teams. Day-to-day duties include:
- Facilitating agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) across all teams to ensure smooth execution and alignment.
- Serving as a servant-leader and coach, mentoring teams on Agile, Scrum, and DevOps best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.
- Identifying and aggressively removing impediments, shielding the teams from external distractions and blockers.
- Collaborating with Product Managers, architects, and business stakeholders to define the technical vision, refine the product backlog, and ensure features meet business objectives.
- Driving technical excellence by establishing and enforcing engineering best practices, participating in code reviews, and ensuring high standards for quality, security, and scalability.
- Tracking team-level metrics (velocity, cycle time, quality) and reporting on progress to leadership, ensuring transparency and predictability.
- Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management
- Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes

Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in direct team leadership, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Technical Lead role.
- 3+ years of experience leading at least two software engineering teams simultaneously in a leadership capacity such as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Technical Lead.
- 5+ years of experience applying agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, including experience with scaling frameworks and tailoring agile practices to team and project needs.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with software engineering principles, including modern CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native development environments.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred
- Professional agile or Scrum certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), SAFe Agilist, or LeSS Practitioner.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams in a highly regulated industry, such as Financial Services.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
- Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
- Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
- Excellent Written and Communication Skills
- Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
