Tax Analyst

Role Summary

The Tax Analyst is a key contributor to our global team, responsible for ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance. In this role, the successful candidate will analyze evolving tax forms and instructions and update calculations to meet current compliance requirements. This position demands a high degree of analytical rigor and meticulous attention to detail. The Tax Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally with product development, design, and customer support teams to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions that meet the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.

About the Role:
 

  • Analyze tax forms, instructions, and related legislation to ensure software products remain current and compliant.
  • Implement updates to existing tax software products using internal tools; this role requires proficiency in formula-based logic.
  • Maintain ownership of a defined set of tax jurisdictions and proactively identify and synthesize regulatory changes across forms and instructions.
  • Execute structured software testing to validate accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage deliverables reliably, providing timely status updates, escalating risks proactively, and contributing to broader content initiatives.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with internal teams to monitor and stay current on changes across assigned jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria; support Agile delivery and change management within a defined feature area.
  • Provide research support and timely responses to internal stakeholders and Customer Support teams regarding client inquiries.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in tax compliance, analytical reasoning, and structured problem-solving.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Apply advanced data analysis techniques to tax content; model complex calculations and usage cases.
  • Responsibly leverage AI and research automation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency; validate outputs rigorously, maintain thorough documentation of sources and methodology, and uphold applicable compliance standards.
  • Stay current on emerging tools and technologies; evaluate and recommend workflow enhancements and quality control improvements; share best practices across the team.
  • Adapt independently and efficiently to new tools, workflows, and project types, including AI-enabled features, while maintaining accuracy and consistency under shifting priorities.

About You

Candidates who meet the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in tax preparation, tax compliance, or the development of tax-related content (e.g. income tax, U.S. international tax, sales and use tax).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in formula-based logic and structured reasoning (e.g., Excel formulas, conditional logic).
  • Solid computer proficiency, including Windows operating systems, file management, and standard productivity tools.
  • Analytical mindset with a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and cross-functional collaboration in a software or technology environment.
