Senior Manager, AI Practice, Visa Consulting & Analytics

Job Description

This role is designed for a hands-on AI technologist who can independently design, prototype, and demonstrate Agentic AI solutions, while also operating in a consulting environment. You will personally build proof-of-concepts and demos, translate client problem statements into agentic AI architectures, and then lead full solution builds in collaboration with market teams, data engineers, AI engineers, and third-party vendors.

In this role, you are expected to provide:

Hands-on AI Solution Development & Prototyping:

• Architect, prototype, and develop end-to-end agentic AI use cases—including data pipelines, LLM workflows, tools, and agents—culminating in working demos and proof-of-concepts that can be used with clients and internal stakeholders
• Design and implement MLOps patterns in partnership with data science, data engineering, and Global AI teams, including model versioning, evaluation, monitoring, and deployment workflows
• Independently build AI prototypes and demos (e.g., agentic workflows, RAG systems, multi-agent orchestration) to validate concepts before scaling with engineering teams

Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as the AI SME representing VCA AP to collaborate with technology, data science organization to create the right Agentic AI solutions for the FI and merchant clients
• Partner with AP market teams to co-create, validate, and scale AI solutions—serving as the technical lead who bridges client needs, market context, and engineering execution
• Manage and guide third-party AI vendors or platform partners as part of solution delivery when applicable

End-to-End Agentic AI Solution Delivery & Quality Ownership:

• Lead end-to-end Agentic AI solution builds—from client problem framing through concept design, prototyping, and production handover.
• Translate client business problems into agentic AI architectures, defining agents, tools, workflows, evaluation metrics, and deployment patterns.
• Act as the technical lead working with data engineers, AI engineers, platform teams, and third-party vendors to deliver production-grade solutions.
• Ensure solution quality across performance, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and responsible AI considerations.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

We are looking to hire candidates that have already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payments industry, results-driven and client-centric. As a candidate you should have both technical and business acumen

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in applied AI, analytics, or software-based solution development, with a strong track record of hands-on delivery of AI or Generative AI solutions.
• Experience building end-to-end AI solutions that integrate data ingestion, model inference, orchestration, and user-facing interfaces (e.g., APIs, dashboards, lightweight UIs).
• Demonstrated ability to independently design and build working AI prototypes and demos, not just conceptual architectures.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts through live demos, prototypes, and walkthroughs with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to develop LLM-based agentic workflows to support suitable business use cases. Essential for applying AI to real-world problem
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Expertise in Generative AI frameworks and libraries, e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, Langraph, llamacpp & OpenAI. Specific expertise relevant to the job role
• Good knowledge on Prompt engineering techniques and cost optimization strategies for Closed Source LLMs.
• Proficiency in developing LLM-based RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across data, model, prompt, and orchestration layers.

What will also help:

• Understanding of Payments and Banking Industry including Consumer Credit, Consumer debit, Small Business, Commercial, Co-Brand and Merchant
• Prior consulting experience is beneficial but not mandatory; candidates from strong engineering, AI product, or applied research backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply
• Experience using demos as a consulting tool to drive client understanding, alignment, and decision-making.
• Willingness to travel
