Summary of the Role:
Every major legal conference is a window into what the industry is thinking, debating, and preparing for. This role exists to make sure that Thomson Reuters presence is not just on the ground, but across every social platform where legal professionals are watching, sharing, and engaging.
We are looking for a Social Media Events Manager who is equal parts campaign strategist, live content creator, and cross-functional connector. You know how to build anticipation weeks before an event breaks, and you're just as comfortable filming a 30-second clip on the conference floor as you are writing a speaker spotlight that stops the scroll on LinkedIn. You thrive in fast-moving environments where no two days look the same, and you understand that a great event only matters if the right people see it, share it, and remember it. You will own our full event social presence for legal, before, during, and after, and be responsible for ensuring every event earns its full impact on social. This is a new role for Thomson Reuters that is part of the organic social media team and will have two direct reports.
About the Role:
- Develop pre-event social campaigns (countdowns, speaker spotlights, session teasers) across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
- Manage real-time live event social coverage — live posts, Stories, short clips, quote cards
- Coordinate with the Video Creator to capture on-the-ground content at flagship events
- Build post-event content libraries (key takeaways, highlight reels, attendee testimonials) that extend the life of each event by 4–6 weeks on social
- Own Instagram strategy as the primary "event and culture" channel
- Coordinate with TR’s Comms/PR/Sales and marketing teams to align social amplification with broader event comms
- Manage influencer and speaker social coordination (pre-briefing speakers on social sharing, providing them with ready-made assets)
- Develop a social events playbook for global activation across organic social channels
About You:
- 5-8 years of experience in social media management with a strong focus on event promotion and live social coverage
- Proven ability to build and execute multi-platform social media campaigns tied to events, with measurable results
- Experience collaborating with events, PR, and marketing teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong real-time content creation skills, including the ability to write, post, and engage live during events
- Familiarity with social media management and analytics platforms such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a large, matrixed organization and building relationships with stakeholders across teams and geographies
- Legal tech or professional services experience is a plus
