- Substantial credit/risk assessment experience gained from a financial institution, insurance company, asset management or public accounting firm, or proven equivalent
- Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with some public speaking experience
- Extensive understanding of the wider credit markets and their regulatory environment
- Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
- Fluency in English is essential. Other languages, and in particular Russian and French would be advantageous
- Willingness to travel across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia region
- Ability to ensure ongoing self-development
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
- Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
- Strong academic background, equivalent to a Master’s degree (MSc or MBA) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly beneficial
Provide high quality credit analysis and thought leadership on banks and non bank financial institutions in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia to support accurate ratings and investor confidence.
- Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of assigned banks and financial systems, acting as a subject matter expert for the region
- Perform comprehensive fundamental credit analysis and present findings effectively at rating committees with a high degree of autonomy
- Write high quality, insightful research on credit trends, individual issuers, and banking systems, contributing to Moody’s analytical leadership
- Build and sustain strong relationships with senior management at rated financial institutions and engage effectively with investors
- Respond to investor and issuer inquiries, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with published credit opinions
- Enhance Moody’s franchise by participating in conferences, outreach activities, and other visibility initiatives across Middle East, Africa and Central Asia
- Coach, review, and develop Ratings Associates, providing guidance on analysis quality and professional development
The EMEA Banking team, part of the Financial Institutions Group, is responsible for providing independent credit ratings and research on banks and non bank financial institutions across the region. By joining the team, you will contribute to Moody’s global analytical excellence, support transparent financial markets, and engage with a diverse set of institutions across the Middle East and wider EMEA region.
