Drive Problem Resolution & Customer Support

  • Empower the team to resolve customer issues; coordinate coverage and oversee resolution to completion

  • Resolve team- and domain-level impediments; escalate cross-domain impediments effectively

  • Run retrospectives and RCAs to identify opportunities to prevent future incidents; prioritize improvements with your Triad

Foster Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage innovative ideas from direct reports to contribute to team roadmap, sprints, and day-to-day objectives

  • Influence senior leaders on engineering strategy for your team

  • Identify and act to improve processes within the team

  • Work with adjacent teams to solve problems; escalate problems that have wider scope

  • Ensure current policies, practices, trends, technology, and competitive information affecting the business are understood and taken into consideration

  • Guide the team to design and implement solutions, ensuring quality through best practices and analysis of incidents and failures

Grow & Manage Your Team

  • Help engineers at various levels identify and grow into their next career step; identify and cultivate future leaders

  • Provide feedback, help team members set short-term goals, and coach them on development plans

  • Staff the team effectively, fill gaps on projects, and manage low performance in a timely fashion

  • Champion diverse hiring to foster diverse thought and innovative practices

Your Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience managing software product development teams

  • Strong background in software development of commercial-grade systems and applications
