The program launched last year in Africa, and this year expands to China and Taiwan, reflecting Reuters commitment to developing journalistic talent across regions and strengthening coverage from the ground up.
RNAP offers participants the opportunity to deepen their reporting skills, broaden their global perspective, and work alongside Reuters journalists covering stories that shape the world.

The China Manufacturing Correspondent is a part of the Reuters News Accelerator Program.
Location: Shenzhen
Reuters is seeking an experienced correspondent to cover China’s manufacturing, robotics and advanced‑technology sectors — industries central to the country’s economic ambitions and global influence. The rise of new national champions, and the state’s push to move up the value chain, have implications far beyond China’s borders.
This role will break news, connect trends and explain what China’s industrial transformation means for the world.
About the Role
As China Manufacturing Correspondent, you will:
- Develop original, forward‑looking stories for Reuters global file, working across political, corporate and economic teams
- Deliver fast, accurate and insightful coverage of breaking news
- Report on manufacturing, robotics and innovation as engines of economic and strategic change
- Work with graphics, pictures and video colleagues to tell stories in modern, digital‑first formats
About You
As China Manufacturing Correspondent, you are likely to bring:
- Significant reporting experience, with a focus on business, technology or innovation
- Strong news judgement and the ability to spot important trends early
- Experience working under pressure in a fast‑paced newsroom
- A collaborative mindset and ease working across teams
- The ability to use data to strengthen reporting
- Proficiency in Chinese
