JOB SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Operations Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating all international (imports and exports) shipments. In addition, this role also plays lead for domestic shipping, paying vendors, organizing and maintaining processes for waste disposal and assisting other members of the Supply Chain team as necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and prioritizes all activities working toward supply chain excellence. This person will demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work under short timelines and accommodate changing work environment.
- Must maintain accurate and appropriate records.
- Solely responsible for coordinating all international shipments to include preparing paperwork, coordinating shipment with respective broker and ensuring on time delivery
- Position is physically demanding at times as outlined in the Physical Demands Task Analysis for the position.
- Position may require some degree of work in extreme temperatures and may require varied work schedules.
- Must be able to be a resource for purchasing related duties and to ensure that all PO’s and Amex charges are properly tracked to their respective projects.
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary information and procedures are enforced.
- Other activities as directed by supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):
• A.S or B.S degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• 4 or more years of working in supply chain with proven history/familiarity with international shipping and associated documents (i.e., Pro Forma’s, manufacturer’s declaration, heat treatment certification, etc.).
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work in extreme temperatures in an industrial environment.
• Good interpersonal, communication, organization, math, computer, and writing skills
