Visa is seeking a strategic finance leader to join the Value‑Added Services (VAS) Issuing Solutions team. This role partners closely with senior business executives to shape financial strategy, evaluate investments, and drive decision‑making across the Card Benefits and Affluent portfolio.
As a Senior Director, you will serve as the primary finance partner to global product and commercial leaders, translating complex business dynamics into clear financial insights that influence strategy, prioritization, and resource allocation. This is a high‑visibility individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Finance, Value‑Added Services Issuing Solutions, with significant exposure to senior finance leadership and executive management.
To thrive in this highly visible seat, you must operate seamlessly between executive-level strategy and hands-on execution. The Senior Director must bring strong strategic thinking, financial rigor, and executive presence, with the ability to frame implications, risks, and trade-offs for senior leadership while also rolling up their sleeves to lead complex analysis, validate assumptions, and drive decisions. Success in this role will depend on driving clarity from complexity, challenging conventional thinking, and influencing outcomes across a highly matrixed, global organization. Strategic Partnership & Business Influence
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, embedding finance into operating rhythms to shape long-term strategy for the Card Benefits & Affluent portfolio.
- Translate product economics and dynamics across Visa’s 5 regions into actionable financial scenarios and executive-ready narratives.
- Drive disciplined decision-making by challenging assumptions, evaluating spend vs. returns, and guiding investment trade-offs.
Performance Management & Financial Leadership
- Lead end-to-end financial planning, forecasting, and performance diagnostics across a globally matrixed organization
- Synthesize complex data into tailored, high-impact presentations that highlight key risks, opportunities, and required actions.
- Establish scalable, efficient processes for monthly and quarterly performance reviews while continuously improving forecast accuracy.
Process Modernization & Operational Excellence
- Spearhead the modernization of financial reporting by transitioning from manual processes to automated, driver-based insights.
- Design scalable financial frameworks across regions—defining clear structures, inputs, and outputs—to improve data transparency and accelerate decision velocity
- Continuously streamline and scale internal finance workflows to reduce administrative effort and elevate the overall quality of analytical outputs.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or related roles within a complex, global organization
- Strong analytical background with deep understanding of financial accounting, management reporting, and operating metrics
- Proven experience partnering with senior executives and influencing decisions in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments
- Excellent executive presence with the ability to distill complex analysis into clear, compelling messages
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and drive outcomes without direct authority
- Detail‑oriented with a high bar for accuracy and quality
- Collaborative, adaptable, and effective in a highly matrixed organization
- AI-first mindset; highly comfortable leveraging generative AI and modern tech tools to streamline workflows, synthesize complex data, and elevate team productivity
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 210,900.00 to 369,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
