About the Team:
The Professional Services Operational Advisor (Intelligent Trials) is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role focusing on advising and mentoring our clients/partners during and after implementation of Medidata Clinical Cloud Products on our Unified Platform. Using your operational experience in Study Planning, Study Feasibility and downstream processes you will be seen as a leader and a key member of the Medidata Professional Services team, driving the successful implementation and adoption of one or more Medidata Clinical Cloud Products across all client segments.
Responsibilities:
Key activities performed by the Professional Services Operational Advisor (Intelligent Trials) will include:
- Independently drive and oversee contracts across multiple cross-functional areas to enable clients to (1) use SaaS and custom managed services with a focus on artificial intelligence, modeling and forecasting, and customized datasets supporting clinical trial acceleration and / or (2) Implement Medidata solutions within the platform; Provide strategic input, guidance, advice, knowledge and best practices to support client/partners in driving implementation and adoption of Medidata Clinical Cloud Products
- Advise and mentor clients/partners during implementation which includes workshop delivery
- Establish “Trusted Advisor” relationship through effective consultation
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact for customers and serve as their expert, enabling them to leverage the Medidata solutions they've subscribed to. Provide operational expertise during and after Implementation and Enablement activities
- Lead and deliver new release overviews, knowledge transfer and risk assessments in providing operational input and support to the implementation of new releases
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal Subject Matter Experts
- Attend Key Operational Meetings in support of Medidata Clinical Cloud Products
- Work closely with the relevant Sales team members to support further adoption of product across the platform
- Where appropriate develop operational specific materials to support the use of Medidata Clinical Cloud Products
- Listen, understand and translate client clinical trial operational planning and execution business questions into creative solutions and services for successful outcomes
- Lead initiatives to implement innovative processes, methodologies, data and technologies that ensures continuous improvement and innovation of valued services & insights
- Support client value stories for internal and external messaging
- Develop external materials and key messaging to translate and summarize technical information to senior business audience
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel (as needed)
- Be a change management champion for your clients, which is achieved by challenging outdated and inefficient processes in order to maximize the product's value to the customer
The Professional Services Operational Advisor (Intelligent Trials) is responsible for maintaining a high-level of expertise for Intelligent Trials Products, including but not limited to the following activities:
- Maintain individual Product and Industry expertise by attending regular Product Training and external industry training, e.g. conferences
- Represent Professional Services team in Product Adoption and Optimization (PAO) workstreams and initiatives; sharing knowledge back to the full Professional Services team
- Support training of wider teams to enhance Product and Industry knowledge across team
- Collate and maintain list, on behalf of broader OA team, of defect and enhancements impacting clients that require addressing by Medidata Product teams
- Provide operational insight to defect and enhancement requests
- Provide operational input to Medidata's implementation process, best practices and collateral roadmaps ensuring that Professional Services team is represented
- Attend specific Product Forums related to Medidata Clinical Cloud Products
- Ensure Medidata's Quality System Documents (QSDs) and other process documents are up to date as products and processes evolve
- Collaborate with Medidata Global Education Team on the development of training plans and collateral material
- Collaborate with various cross functional groups to provide best practices support for defects and enhancements within Medidata

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within a life sciences or analytical discipline. Advanced degree in a scientific or analytical discipline preferred
- 8+ years of work experience in one of the following types of highly structured or scientific environments: pharma/biotech, management/healthcare consulting, life sciences, data and analytics role
- Clinical trial planning, start-up and/or execution experience and exposure within a CRO, sponsor or service/technology provider
- Outstanding structured and critical thinking
- A passion for understanding complex issues with a data driven approach
- A technical bent and the ability to use or to learn to use tools to answer your own questions (e.g. Excel/SQL/Python)
- Superb project management and a relentless drive to get things done
- A strong analytical background and the ability to quickly digest and evaluate complex analyses with a keen eye for detail; Enjoy iterating on different ways to solve a problem
- Outstanding structured and critical thinking and a passion for understanding and solving complex issues with a data driven approach
- An entrepreneurial drive and a passion to advance the development of new treatments
- Experience leading a team formally or informally
- Can drive a team forward even amidst ambiguity and complexity
- Strong familiarity and experience complying with global regulations, including GCP, ICH, HIPAA, and 21 CFR Part 11
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $114,750-153,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $121,500-162,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250-151,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250-135,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750-137,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
