- Substantial credit and risk assessment experience gained within a credit rating agency, financial institution, asset management firm, or equivalent environment.
- Deep knowledge of credit analysis with an extensive understanding of financial markets, Structured Finance, and consumer ABS credit.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and modeling skills, including the ability to perform cash flow analysis using analytical tools or the willingness to further develop these skills.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute complex analytical, strategic, and operational initiatives within a team or across the broader organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex credit analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and people development capabilities, including mentoring, coaching, and training analysts at various levels.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering, or a related field with relevant professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with ten or more years of experience in a credit-focused role.
This senior role oversees the surveillance, analysis, and monitoring of U.S. Consumer ABS transactions while providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to the team.
- Chair rating committees and deal reviews, providing oversight and direction on credit analysis and surveillance decisions.
- Independently lead and supervise complex analytical initiatives, process improvements, and efficiency enhancement projects.
- Drive initiatives to strengthen rating and research quality, standards, depth, and timeliness across the team.
- Identify, manage, and actively contribute to methodological, process, and operational enhancement efforts, ensuring projects are properly supported and delivered on track.
- Mentor, develop, and train junior analysts to produce high-quality analytics, research, and market outreach in an efficient manner.
- Support recruitment efforts and contribute to building and maintaining a strong, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including issuers, arrangers, investors, servicers, and other market participants.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry and market trends affecting credit and represent the organization in internal and external ABS-related forums.
- Contribute to thought leadership by identifying research ideas and publishing high-quality research articles and in-depth reports on credit issues.
- Ensure that policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently followed across the team.
The U.S. Consumer ABS Surveillance Team within the Structured Finance group is responsible for monitoring ratings on a wide range of securitizations backed by consumer assets, including auto loans and leases, student loans, unsecured consumer loans, and timeshare loans. The team produces timely, high-quality research on emerging trends, engages regularly with issuers and investors, participates in industry conferences, and contributes to market dialogue through in-depth research and sector commentary.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
