Marketing Director, Japan | Growth & Demand Generation

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing Director to lead the development and execution of our go-to-market, marketing, and communications strategy. In this role as Japan Marketing Country Lead, you will drive pipeline growth, enhance brand visibility, strengthen market positioning, and support key commercial objectives. Acting as a strategic partner to the business, you will bring together demand generation, stakeholder engagement, and brand communications to deliver measurable enterprise impact, while collaborating across global and regional teams to shape and execute high-impact outbound marketing initiatives.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Marketing Director, Japan, you will:

  • Manage a team of experienced marketing professionals in Japan, with ownership of marketing KPIs and accountability for achieving annual pipeline and marketing-attributed sales targets aligned with the sales cycle for each proposition.
  • Develop and deploy sophisticated, integrated demand generation campaigns in Japan, leading marketing efforts for Global Trade, Tax, and Legal Solutions.
  • Build enthusiasm and momentum for marketing initiatives by engaging with and enabling Sales and the development of target account marketing programs.
  • Develop and execute plans across a range of marketing channels, including social media, marketing automation, events (physical and digital), digital display, and SEM.
  • Play a key role in building high-touch TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU campaigns to drive pipeline influence and acceleration.
  • Own marketing KPIs and ensure the achievement of annual pipeline and marketing-attributed sales targets in line with the sales cycle for each proposition.
  • Develop strong and effective partnerships with local industry partners, associations, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Strategy, Digital, Operations, Events, and Thought Leadership marketing leaders to shape the strategy, messaging, and content of our outbound marketing efforts.

About You

You are a fit for the Marketing Director, Japan position if you have the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' senior marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving pipeline and revenue growth
  • Strong experience in strategic marketing, demand generation, integrated campaigns, and communications
  • Knowledge of proposition-based or solution-led marketing
  • Proven track record of leading teams to deliver against established metrics and KPIs
  • Proven track record of managing data-driven marketing campaigns, with strong budget management skills
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with agencies, stakeholders, and strategic partners
  • A strong interest in staying current with marketing innovations and best practices
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks while communicating persuasively under pressure
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English

Additionally, the following experience will be highly valued:

  • Prior experience marketing B2B technology products or services
  • Prior experience managing Tax, Corporates, or Legal portfolios
