Technical Product Manager, Commerce Integration Middleware- Salesforce, RCA & Zuora
Reuters is seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Manager, Commerce Integration Middleware to join our Commercial Platforms team as we modernize our monetization stack and scale self-service commerce across a global news and media business.
Commercial Platforms is evolving into a product-led organization that builds scalable, reusable, compliant monetization capabilities for multiple business units. Business units own their commercial strategy and KPIs, while Business Operations is the primary operational owner of global billing execution, billing compliance, and taxation—and a core partner in shaping requirements and validating outcomes.
In this role, you will own a middleware service that provides the e-commerce integration layer between front-end experiences and our commercial back office—spanning B2B transactional sales and B2C subscriptions—and integrating with Salesforce and Zuora. The middleware also provides the order processing and orchestration layer between Salesforce RCA and Zuora, enabling cross-sell across Digital Advertising and Events.
Our strategic billing platform is Zuora Billing.
About the role:
As a Technical Product Manager, Commerce Integration Middleware, you will:
- Own product discovery and delivery for the middleware service, translating commercial and operational needs into a clear roadmap and prioritized backlog aligned to measurable outcomes (conversion, revenue assurance, cost-to-serve, fulfilment speed, supportability).
- Define scalable integration patterns across front-end products, Salesforce (including RCA), and Zuora—covering APIs, event/webhook patterns, idempotency, reconciliation, error handling, and observability.
- Enable end-to-end order lifecycle orchestration, including order creation, changes/amendments, cancellations, credits/refunds (where applicable), and synchronization of quote/order states across systems.
- Support global readiness, including multi-entity and multi-currency considerations, and ensuring integrations meet operational, audit, and compliance expectations.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Business Operations, Commercial Operations teams, Sales, Support and Security to define requirements, controls, acceptance criteria, and rollout plans.
- Improve operational excellence through clear runbooks, dashboards/alerts, exception handling workflows, and automation that reduces manual effort while maintaining appropriate controls and auditability.
- Track delivery with rigour, proactively managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication.
- You will define the product requirements, priorities, and service expectations for the middleware platform, partnering closely with Engineering on technical design and implementation.
- Product requirements and priorities for integrations across front ends → middleware → Salesforce/RCA → Zuora
- Business workflows and reusable service capabilities supporting quote-to-order journeys and cross-sell across Digital Advertising and Events
- Reconciliation, exception handling, and recovery capabilities that improve data quality and reduce manual intervention
- Service expectations and roadmap priorities for reliability, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle communication
About You
To be our Technical Product Manager, Commerce Integration Middleware, you are likely to have:
- 9-12 years of product management experience delivering platform and/or integration capabilities in a complex environment.
- Strong technical fluency with APIs, integration patterns, data models, and distributed systems concepts (retries, idempotency, consistency, reconciliation).
- Experience with billing and order lifecycles (subscriptions and/or transactional), including amendments/corrections and revenue-impacting edge cases; Zuora experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Salesforce (Sales/Service and/or RCA/CPQ patterns), especially where Salesforce integrates to billing/ordering systems.
- Comfort operating in the details (field mapping, workflow design, acceptance criteria) while keeping a platform-level view.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with an outcome-driven approach and a bias toward scalable solutions.
