Are you considering a career in tech, but aren’t sure where to start?
Making that first move can be daunting, especially if you don’t have a formal background. That’s why identifying and leveraging your transferable skills is crucial.
Veronica Carvalho and Helen Hoang, both Android Engineers at Bumble and alumni of Bumble Tech Academy, think that a continuous-learning mindset and problem-solving skills can get you a foot in the door.
Join us to hear from Veronica and Helen as they share their personal experiences navigating their transition to tech and what they learned along the way.
During this chat, they’ll talk about:
Verónica recently completed the Bumble Tech Academy programme as a Trainee Android Developer.
To the tech world, she brings customer relationship, communication and collaboration skills, acquired from her studies in tourism and over seven years of customer service experience across SaaS B2B companies.
Helen Hoang recently made her transition into tech after graduating from the Bumble Tech Academy.
She has an educational background in law and her most recent career before becoming an engineer was in education.
Along with her non-traditional background, she brings communication skills and curiosity to her first tech role as a Trainee Android Engineer, ever mindful of how technology plays a role in human society.
