I just started working for my family’s business and they are extremely old school with everything they do. I started in April of last year and I’ve realized that I am seen as a woman still and it’s because I still have to go by my deadname at work. I have had conversations with employers before about my transition but because my boss is friends with my family, I don’t know how to quite bring it up in a place full of conservative men. How do I express my identity and stay true to myself when I work everyday with people who just will not understand and might get angry and might put my job in jeopardy?
