What are some strategies that you have found successful for moving horizontally vs the traditional vertical mobility that most focus on? As someone who enjoys variety and learning new things, I have found through my career so far that many times when I am looking for career advancement, it is not that I am looking for a promotion in my current role, but instead am looking to learn and do something new and different. It frequently seems difficult to get hiring managers to value experiences that may not be directly related to the role they are hiring for. What are strategies to showcase how your experience, while not directly related to the role, is still valuable for the role?
