Visible & Invisible Disabilities and Neurodivergence

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2023:

Talented and highly skilled working-age disabled and neurodiverse adults participate in the workforce significantly less than those without disabilities, and experience unemployment rates much higher than their able-bodied and neurotypical peers.

        • Understanding neurodiversity
        • The benefits and drawbacks that hybrid and remote work can have on a person with a disability
        • Respectful and inclusive language
        • The historical context of disability in the public sphere

        and much more!

The summit will conclude with a virtual job fair featuring companies that are committed to neurodiversity and disability inclusion, and will answer candidate’s questions about how they are creating and maintaining inclusive spaces.

Pride: Championing LGBTQIA+ Leaders & Allies

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2024:

Pride is a time for celebration, but in the face of unprecedented anti-LGBTQIA+ bills, it’s also a time to build resilience for the future and reflect on decades of advocacy. We gather together to help overcome the systemic inequality that has impacted and still impacts the LGBTQIA+ community — and not just in the world, but also in the workplace.

Our Pride summit, one of our biggest events of the year, will bring together individuals, leaders, and organizations to discuss concrete actions they are taking to increase representation in various industries, showcase members of our community who are making an impact, and highlight those companies actively hiring and investing in LGBTQIA+ talent.

The summit will conclude an LGBTQIA+ virtual job fair featuring companies who keep their Pride flags flying all year long, not just in the month of June.

Past Pride speakers have included Indeed’s LaFawn Davis, actress & entrepreneur Angelica Ross, Rep. Mark Takano, filmmaker Dan O’Neill, GLITS founder Ceyenne Doroshow, founder Andrea Barrica, National Black Justice Coalition Executive Director David J. Johns, activist & business leader Henry R. Muñoz III, and many more.

Empower Her: Advancing Women in the Workplace and Beyond

Empower Her: Advancing Women in the Workplace and Beyond

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2024:

According to a 2022 report by McKinsey, women continue to remain deeply underrepresented in technical roles, are twice as likely to be mistaken for someone more junior than their male counterparts, and are more quickly reaching burnout than men at their level. At the same time, women are 2x as likely to spend a substantial amount of time on DEIB work than male leaders!

For this year’s flagship Diversity Reboot summit, we are centering around empowering women in the workplace. We’re presenting a four day event, a dynamic and empowering summit dedicated to championing the advancement of women in all areas of professional and personal life.

We have gathered together thought leaders, industry experts, and change-makers from across the realms of business, tech, policy, media, and DEIB to explore strategies for breaking barriers, fostering gender equality, and creating inclusive environments where women don’t just survive but thrive.

Join us for a mix of insightful fireside chats, upskilling workshops, panel discussions, keynotes, and interactive networking sessions. This summit addresses topics such as work-life integration, personal growth, and leadership development. By celebrating the achievements of women, fostering connections, and providing a platform for shared experiences, Empower Her aims to inspire, equip, and uplift women from all walks of life, amplifying their voices and shaping a future where every woman has the opportunity to succeed, thrive, and make a lasting impact in their chosen fields and beyond.

Looking for a new opportunity? Close out the week with our two-day virtual job fair featuring companies looking to make hires across multiple experience levels and industries.

Previous Diversity Reboot speakers have included Valerie Jarrett, Arianna Huffington, Donna Brazile, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Rep. Val Demings, Rep. Judy Chu, Johnny C. Taylor Jr., Ai-jen Poo, Carla Harris, Angelica Ross, Tiffany Cross, Jacqueline Novogratz, Geraldine Laybourne, Margery Kraus, Joanne Wilson, Aida Rodriguez, Lil Rel Howery, Jill Filipovic, Jonah Peretti, and hundreds more.

        Mother's Monday 2023

        Mother's Monday 2023

        POWERED BY PATH FORWARD

When working mothers arrive at work, they often feel like they have to check their motherhood at the door. What if instead we acknowledged it, celebrated it, and helped corporate culture adapt to it? That’s what Mother’s Monday is all about – a day to pause and celebrate working motherhood and ask how we might collectively reinvent the relationship between motherhood and work so that ambition and caregiving can co-exist. It’s about tackling gender inequality and reimagining the role companies and society can play in supporting mothers and in the process better support everyone else, too.

The fourth annual virtual Mother’s Monday event, now powered by Path Forward, will feature impactful speakers and will spark conversations meant to challenge stereotypes, uplift, and inspire corporate action. A movement all year, a gathering May 15, 2023.

Fireside Chat with VA representative Jennifer Wexton

Representative Wexton will discuss how the US government is tackling issues impacting working mothers - both as an employer (funding to study childcare provided to federal employees and to research returnships) and legislatively via efforts like the childcare provisions in federal funding legislation.

        Childcare Panel

Access to childcare is one of the biggest hurdles for women’s workforce participation and increasingly for men as well. How can companies create policies that support and/or provide more affordable, reliable childcare for working parents?

        Parental Leave Panel

The US is one of the only developed countries with no standardized parental leave policies, putting the burden on creating policies on companies. How are employers evolving their policies around parental leave to better support new parents and to bring gender equity to the practice of taking parental leave?

        Return to Work Panel

The transition from new parent on leave to working parent is difficult, and even more difficult when the transition back to the workforce follows a lengthy career break. What are leading companies doing to support this transition?

        Speakers include:

Blessing Adesiyan, Founder & CEO, MH WorkLife

Gayatri Agnew, Founder, Mother’s Monday and Senior Director and Head of Accessibility Center of Excellence, Walmart

Jacquelyn Ainsley, Head of Global Benefits, Pinterest

Anjali Sinha, National Talent Acquisition Lead, Deloitte

        Diversity Reboot 2023

What We Know, What We’re Learning

As we settle into a post-pandemic world, we don’t go back to normal — we move forward.

We move forward into intersectional workplaces that ensure all are welcome and are empowered to do their best work; into making sure our business practices have a positive impact on the community around us; into a reality where DEIB is a state of being, not just a department at a company or an empty policy statement.

Join the PowerToFly team and top leaders in tech, business, DEIB, wellness, media, policy, and finance as we take stock of what we’ve learned, and share ideas and strategies for moving forward.

Previous Diversity Reboot speakers have included Valerie Jarrett, Arianna Huffington, Donna Brazile, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Rep. Val Demings, Rep. Judy Chu, Johnny C. Taylor Jr., Ai-jen Poo, Carla Harris, Angelica Ross, Tiffany Cross, Jacqueline Novogratz, Geraldine Laybourne, Margery Kraus, Joanne Wilson, Aida Rodriguez, Lil Rel Howery, Jill Filipovic, Jonah Peretti, and hundreds more.

The summit will conclude with a virtual job fair to connect diverse candidates with high-visibility jobs at leading brands.

Destigmatized: Visible & Invisible Disabilities and Neurodivergence

Destigmatized: Visible & Invisible Disabilities and Neurodivergence

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2022:

Working-age adults with disabilities participate in the workforce significantly less than those without disabilities, while neurodiverse adults continue to experience unemployment rates much higher than their neurotypical counterparts. These disheartening realities are often due to discrimination and unconscious bias; barriers that prevent recruitment processes from being accessible to all candidates; or workplaces with physical spaces, procedures, and technology that is designed for able-bodied, neurotypical workers.

Disability and neurodiversity inclusion is a critical, yet often overlooked component of DEI efforts and business expansion. PowerToFly is looking to change that by hosting a one-day, interactive summit focusing on destigmatizing disabilities and neurodivergence in the workplace, both visible and invisible.

Please join us for talks on topics such as:

        • Understanding neurodiversity
        • The benefits and drawbacks that hybrid and remote work can have on a person with a disability
        • Respectful and inclusive language
        • The historical context of disability in the public sphere

Pride: Championing LGBTQIA+ Leaders and Allies

        Diversity Reboot 2022:

Pride is not only rooted in the celebration of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, it also serves as a reflection of the decades of work to overcome prejudice and advocate for equality for this marginalized community. While the world has seen great strides to increase the LGBTQIA+ inclusion, the professional world still has a way to go to reach true inclusion.

As part of Diversity Reboot 2022, our Pride summit series will focus on bringing individuals, leaders, and organizations together to talk about the actions they are taking to increase representation, showcase members of the PowerToFly community who are making an impact, and highlight companies actively hiring and investing in LGBTQIA+ talent.

Speakers from our 2021 "Diversity Reboot 2021: Pride: Championing LGBTQIA+ Leaders and Allies" summit included: Rep. Mark Takano, the first out gay man elected to the US Congress; Reggie Greer, Senior Advisor on LGBTQ+ Engagement under President Joe Biden; Ann Mei Chang, author of "Lean Impact”, and former Chief Innovation Officer at Pete for America; Peter Arvai, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman at Prezi; LaFawn Davis, Group Vice President of Environmental, Social & Governance at Indeed; David J. Johns, Executive Director of the National Black Justice Coalition; Ceyenne Doroshow, Executive Director of GLITS; Christian Fuscarino, Executive Director of Garden State Equality; educator & author Dr. Kryss Shane, LSW, LMSW (she/her), and many more.

        DIVERSITY REBOOT 2022

Celebrating Global Asian and Pacific Islander Identities

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2022

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the US have risen dramatically, with similar worrying trends in Canada, the UK, and New Zealand. This has sparked a worldwide conversation about the long history of racism and discrimination directed at Asians, Pacific Islanders, and the Asian diaspora. Despite these experiences, this resilient community continues to thrive, and PowerToFly is honored to provide a platform to highlight the achievements and excellence of our Asian and Pacific Islander community members around the world.

Join us for a series of interactive talks and conversations as we share how to break what author and strategist Jane Hyun calls the "bamboo ceiling,"; discuss the detrimental model minority theory; learn lesser-known API history; discuss how the pandemic has affected opportunities in India and throughout the Asian continent; and explore ways to uplift and celebrate our Asian and Pacific Islander leaders in our workplaces and communities.

        Amplifying Black Excellence

        Amplifying Black Excellence

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2022:

As we kick-off 2022 and look towards a brighter, post-pandemic future, many industries and communities are still recovering from the losses of the past two years. For example, did you know that COVID-related job losses pushed more Black women (9.5%) into unemployment than any other group? As we look at 2022 through a new lens, how can we be sure we are supporting our Black leaders and preventing this kind of loss from occurring again?

As we continue to learn from and be mobilized by the Black Lives Matter movement, it's clear we need to gather with leaders at the forefront of elevating Black leaders who can relay their accomplishments as well as the plans they have in-progress.

Join us as we celebrate the voices and achievements of Black leaders in business, and we share how we are holding each other, our work, and our organizations accountable to pledges for creating inclusive workplaces.

Speakers from our 2021 "Diversity Reboot: Elevating Black Women" summit included APCO Worldwide Senior Advisor, Equity and Justice, Charlene Wheeless; Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Thumbtack Dionna Smith; Group Vice President of Environmental, Social & Governance at Indeed LaFawn Davis; CoFounder & CEO of Fundr Lauren Washington, Author & Founder of MoveTheCrowd Rha Goddess, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer of Randstad North America Audra Jenkins; The Jane Club's Chudney Ross and many more.

Don't miss this free opportunity to connect with your peers, network with top companies and learn from leaders who are looking for community feedback.

        ELEVATING BLACK WOMEN

        ELEVATING BLACK WOMEN

        DIVERSITY REBOOT SERIES 2021:

As we near the one year anniversary of demonstrations sparked by George Floyd's murder and a "she-cession" that has largely pushed Black women out of the workforce, it's clear we need to gather with leaders at the forefront of elevating Black women who can relay their accomplishments as well as the plans they have in-progress.

Join us as we celebrate the voices and achievements of Black women in business and we share how we are holding each other, our work and our organizations accountable to pledges for creating inclusive workplaces.
Don't miss this free opportunity to connect with your peers, network with top companies and to learn from leaders who are looking for community feedback.
