Job Purpose
Global responsibility of financials analysis for Engineering (budgeting, forecasting, Month end Reporting, Projects). Reports to Senior Director of Project Management, with a dotted line reporting relationship to CFO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Control and coordinate the annual financial budget preparation, the monthly/quarterly forecasting process and analysis. Review of Business Cases.
Provide insights and metrics into Engineering organization to support improvement of efficiency and resource needs, etc.
Projects
- Reporting and financial control of projects (NPIs, organizational, etc.). Tracking actual performance versus planning/budget as well as cost-to-complete.
- Manages special projects as needed.
- Analyzing product business cases.
Reporting
Reporting, analyzing, and forecasting project performance. Provide required information to CFO, CTO, and project management to drive decisions. Pro-actively prepares meaningful analyses.
Strategic planning
- Provide support to longer term planning’s and special projects.
- Communication Maintains and fosters business partnerships with commercial/functional team.
- Acts as the main point of contact for all financial matters and questions for the LOB.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business, MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 to 10 years progressive experience in a project based finance role and business partner to a professional services/engineering department
- Previous experience in integrating/implementing financial systems and personnel
- Global/Multinational business experience and cultural awareness
- Significant experience with engineering-based businesses
- SAP systems experience is a definite asset
- Professional confidence and demeanor to be able to provide meaningful insight in strategic executive discussions and productively challenge management in development of key initiatives and priorities.
- Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills
