Atlassian Marketplace team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to design, build, evolve and maintain our web frontend systems and tools in order to deliver great experiences to our users.
About Marketplace
The Atlassian Marketplace is a platform for Atlassian customers to discover, try, and buy apps for Atlassian products. You can use apps to customize and extend your Atlassian product. The Marketplace offers apps developed by both Atlassian and third-party developers.
It has been wildly successful: we surpassed $3 billion in lifetime revenue on the Atlassian Marketplace, and Over 70% of Jira Software and Confluence customers use at least one Marketplace app.
We are now moving towards the mission to enable Every team to extend Atlassian products to unleash more potential. We are at a very exciting place right now where we are exploring various possibilities of expanding our horizons to think beyond just Marketplace apps to be hosted on our platform.
Atlassian is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to design, build, evolve and maintain our web frontend systems and tools in order to deliver great experiences to our users.
What you’ll do:- Plan, design, build, and implement scalable user interface systems that delight users
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, designers and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on great solutions
- Lead code reviews and documentation, and take on complex bug fixes
- Drive the success of projects, from the technical design, implementation, and launch to operation
- Onboard and mentor other engineers
- 10+ years of experience in frontend development.
- experience with Javascript (ES6), HTML5, CSS and experience with modern Javascript frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue)
- Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including but not limited to bundling, linting, testing and releasing.
- Extensive experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai)
- Strong comfortability with the JavaScript language and ecosystem
- Experience building frontend applications at scale
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies
- You strive to write code that lasts for years, not months.
- Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity
- Experience mentoring more junior Engineers
