Your future team
This role will be a member of the Atlassian Accounting Team responsible for Accounts Receivable, Revenue, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Prepaid, and Accruals. You will work with several members of the accounting team in addition to working with IT, Customer and Partner Advocates, Sales Operations, and support teams.
Atlassian is looking for an Accounts Receivable Collections Lead who will help oversee the Accounts Receivable Collections function that monitors customer accounts, collections, disputes resolution and reporting. You're a great fit for this role if you are motivated, loves to learn, a change-agent, and collaborative person who excels in a team environment.
What you'll do- Oversee collections task by guiding the team on customer accounts monitoring, collections and disputes resolution
- Implement collection strategies to ensure delivery and efficient recovery of outstanding debts
- Establish collection targets and determine collection priorities
- Develop relationship with customers and your team to facilitate communication and resolution of collection issues
- Monitor operational performance metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Collections Efficiency Index and Average Days Delinquent
- Review Accounts Receivable Subsidiary and General Ledger reconciliation, Accounts Receivable aging analysis, bad debts provisioning and Accounts Receivable flux analysis
- Enhance and update the Collections Policy and Allowance for Doubtful Accounts Policy
- Monitor completion of audit requirements for our external and internal auditors
- Manage team performance and mentor the team members towards career growth and performance development
- Perform adhoc tasks and other related functions
- You will report to the Accounts Receivable Manager who is based in the Philippines
- You are open to working during EMEA or AMER time zones.
- Completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- You have at least 2 years of leadership experience and 5+ years of progressive experience in the Accounts Receivable role, specifically in Collections
- Broad experience in the Order to Cash processes including Accounts Receivable Operations and Credit Management
- Analytical and strategic – emphasis on automation, and continuous improvement
- Enthusiastic, organized, and can focus on the bigger picture while unafraid to still be hands-on and dive into the details.
- Revenue accounting experience
- Experience partnering with teams within and outside Accounting
- Worked across different multinational or BPO/Shared Services Companies
- Experience using Oracle or another equivalent system (e.g., SAP, Netsuite)
