Your future team

In this role as a Cloud Engineer, reporting into the Engineering Manager - Cloud Engineering, you'll be an important part of our Cloud governance strategy across Atlassian. As a member of the team, you'll improve our services to perform tasks such as on/off boarding AWS accounts and GCP projects, security and compliance monitoring, configuration management, and standards enforcement.

It's your job to ensure we follow modern software practices to help future-proof our services, processes and internal tooling. Here, you'll learn and have the opportunity to collaborate with the senior engineers to contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of services that are trusted by teams across Atlassian to maintain compliance in their Cloud accounts

What you'll do

Build performant, testable, and scalable large-scale services deployed as infrastructure as code to hundreds of AWS accounts.

Apply architectural standards and cultivate the best software engineering practices to ensure our services are delivering value to our teams.

Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and complex bug fixes.

Work with Serverless services and frameworks.

Collaborate with team members to create iterative solutions.

Your background

2+ years Python experience, including frameworks such as Django, Flask and FastAPI.

Experience developing and operating large-scale services on AWS.

Experience working with AWS services such as: API Gateway, Dynamodb, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code like Cloudformation, CDK, Terraform.

Hold one or more current Associate-level AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps Administrator or Security Specialist.

Experience integrating distributed systems using REST interfaces or similar techniques.

Experience in Agile software development methodologies.
