The department is responsible for the development and sustainment of state of the art ruggedized avionics hardware products including high performance and high assurance processing platforms, video and graphics processing modules, high-bandwidth networking solutions, and control panels used in rotary wing, tanker, and transport aircraft platforms for the military and commercial markets. This position is for an Electrical Engineer to develop and support hardware used in high-performance computing products such as I/O Processors, Synthetic Vision, and Secure Routers. As part of our team, you'll be exposed to cutting-edge technology and contribute to the creation of a wide variety of products. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. Job Responsibilities: Primary assignments will include the use and application of electrical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, support, and troubleshoot digital and analog hardware for avionics products. Designs include the use of complex printed circuit board solutions, embedded digital logic, microprocessor technologies, and a variety of memory solutions. The selected candidate will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical, and Environmental Effects engineering roles, as well as Manufacturing Operations and Design-to-Cost staff in order to assure requirements are met in all phases of a product's lifecycle. Electrical Engineers at Collins Aerospace perform activities that span all phases of the hardware development lifecycle including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, production transition, product sustainment, and customer interface. A successful candidate will possess:
- Experience with digital electronics design principles
- Schematic capture experience for the creation of digital/analog mixed-signal circuits
- Printed circuit board (PCB) design layout experience
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Be able to multi-task and manage through unexpected events
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

- Experience with ARINC 429, Ethernet, I2C, USB, DDR1/2/3 interfaces
- Testing experience in DO-160 standards
- Experience with DO-254 standards
- Design tools experience for signal integrity and timing analysis
- Capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
- Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)
