Visa is seeking a Director to lead our team of network and application monitoring specialists. This role involves providing leadership and mentorship with a focus on high performance and engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of Corporate IT managed network and application services.

The CIT Network and Apps Monitoring Director will establish methodologies for issue prevention and expedited problem resolution methodologies with focus on the Proactive and Fix Fast outcomes. This role will support a global, 24x7, high-volume, high-availability, critical production environment, using metrics-based KPIs. Other key areas include leading the annual goal planning, establishing key metrics, and reporting using OKRs.

Additionally, the Director will lead incident and/or crisis events for Corporate Major Incidents and engage with vendors/partners to represent operational needs. They will oversee the continuous and secure operation, administration, and maintenance of the corporate networking infrastructure. This includes partnering with Risk Management, Identity/Access Management, Information Security and Privacy, and Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.

Finally, they will collaborate with other teams running systems and applications to enhance efficiency and improvements in network support/management, process enhancement, and new technology implementation. The aim is to proactively ensure network operations capabilities can handle emerging and future business requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the operation of the IT Monitoring Center for Network and Applications.
  • Develop and implement strategies for network and application monitoring.
  • Ensure all IT systems and applications are functioning at optimum levels.
  • Identify and resolve any network and application issues.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure proper monitoring and maintenance of network, applications, and other services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT monitoring center.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT monitoring team.
  • Report on the performance of the network and applications to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Lead and oversee the Major Incident and Problem Management team for Corporate IT.
  • Develop and handle the department's capacity, staffing and ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Support adoption of new technologies and tools, recommend capability improvements.
  • Ensure that information security and risk management are embedded within the culture requiring continuous improvement to a complex set of functions to coordinate security and compliance risks related to information systems and assets.
  • Apply creative thinking/approach to create solutions that further automation goals and align with our technology strategy.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in interactions with partners and customers, and collaborate on projects externally and internally.
  • Build excellent personal relationships with leaders & stakeholders to command their attention.
  • Manage the submission of high quality and informative updates to management:
    • Executive level dashboard reporting
    • Executive Committee and Board of Director reporting
    • Executive Project Watch Lists
    • Executive status on open/pending/completed tasks
    • Monthly and Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) updates
    • Hiring and Workforce Planning reports
    • Data gathering and reporting asks from Visa Technology and Business Operations teams
    • Manage SharePoint/ Teams sites for the org.
    • Create flourishing culture of excitement, fun, and cohesion by connecting the dots across the organization for improved employee wellbeing and engagement.


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or master’s with a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) 12+ years’ experience in technology, information security, and/or network administration with 6+ years of experience in management role with current or held advanced network technical certification (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, JNCIS/JNCIE, or relevant industry certificate)
  • Experience leading a large Network Engineering / Operations team or Software/Tools development team for an enterprise that has heavy consumer facing network infrastructure and a large B2B network interaction.
  • Experience working with highly effective engineering teams through major technology transitions.
  • Experience in a dedicated role around defining network operations strategic planning.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor with ability to maintain a high-level view of the org activities to identify gaps, blind spots, risks.
  • Maintain and support the planning for Business Continuity.
  • Strong experience in researching the latest automation and AIOps trends and proposing advanced tooling/solutions for frontline operations management.
  • Experience leveraging on-prem datacenters as well as AWS/Azure/GCP to monitor/alert and change highly reliable and scalable private and public cloud applications.
  • Good understanding of network, systems, storage, computer, operations and ITSM processes.
  • Exposure and demonstrable experience with at least the following tools.
    • Netcool
    • Ansible
    • Resolve
    • NetBrain
    • Appian
    • ThousandEyes
    • SolarWinds
    • Splunk/Humio

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 146,700.00 to 190,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
