The Meta Reality Labs Audio team is looking for an Audio Systems Intern. In this role, you will be involved in the innovation of audio render system technologies from transducers design, hardware integration to algorithm development. You will apply your knowledge, experience and expertise to solve complex engineering and technological challenges.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. Research Scientist Intern, Audio Systems (PhD) Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Audio and Acoustic Engineers to develop sophisticated numerical models to characterize the performance of transducers and integration
  • Conduct lab validation tests and data analysis to validate and verify the numerical models
  • Develop the algorithms and demo to showcase the audio render system improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in engineering: audio, acoustics, physics, mechanical, electrical, signal processing or related field
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Knowledge of electroacoustic theory and measurement
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing and adaptive theory
  • Experience in using commercial numerical modeling tools, such as COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools
  • Familiarity with data acquisition tools, such as Audio Precision, SoundCheck, MATLAB/Simulink, Python or equivalent tools
  • Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in electro-mechano-acoustic systems design, modeling and measurement
  • Experience in digital signal processing and adaptive filter development
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
