Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together. The Pharmacist Intern Program is full-time, 40 hours per week for 10 weeks starting June 3, 2024. Housing is available for qualified candidates that are not local to the Jeffersonville, IN market. At OptumRx, a part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses, we're reinventing Pharmacy Benefit Management by taking Pharmacists out of a retail or hospital setting and letting them care for our members over the phone. It's a chance to work in a non-traditional setting as you consult with physicians regarding medications and overall wellness. Even better, you'll enjoy greater freedom while positively impact our members' lives. Primary Responsibilities:
- As a Pharmacist Intern with OptumRx’s Specialty & Home Delivery team, you will learn how to:
- Manage high-volume, home delivery pharmacy fulfillment processes.
- Verify prescriptions and prescription data entered for accuracy
- Oversee the activities of pharmacy technicians and inventory personnel
- Work in the fulfillment area to provide the final quality check prior to medication being packed and shipped
- Conform with and support department quality assurance and improvement guidelines
- Understand robotic automation functions
- Oversee the activities of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks and customer service advocates
- Perform all duties and functions in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Organize workload, set priorities, complete assignments in a timely manner and utilize resources appropriately while complying with department program standards
- Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program, with first year completed before start of the internship
- Active Licensure as a pharmacist intern in state of employment before start of internship
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
- 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA
- Completion of at least one Therapeutics Course
- Solid understanding of medical and pharmacy terminology
- Experience in retail or home delivery pharmacy settings
