Beach Street , Haltom City, TX, 76137 USA Position Role Type:Hybrid Collins Aerospace is a seeking Stress Engineering Manager with a strong background in structural analysis to oversee a team of stress engineers. You will be involved in design and analysis, manufacturing, and testing of military landing gear. You will ensure that work assigned and completed meets established engineering schedules and business objectives while satisfying customer and internal requirements. In addition, you will need to have a high level of technical knowledge combined with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a mix of internal and external customers.
  • Position will work in a Hybrid capacity (a mix of onsite & remote work) at our Forth Worth TX facility.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate team to ensure milestones and deliverables as well as customer expectations are met, and work is completed on time and budget
  • Leverage strong background in structural analysis of landing gear and provide technical direction and guidance to the team
  • Understand customer specifications and ensures V&V Matrix Compliance
  • Manage budgets, create and maintain team schedule, generate Engineering Hour Estimates and ensure alignment with program and business objectives
  • Coordinate with Value Stream Leadership and support Program IMS review meetings
  • Provide input on Methods Standardization & CI Best Practice Implementation
  • Review and approve stress analysis reports and other technical documentation.
  • Participate in PDR, CDR, SOF, Gate Reviews & Actions, engineering Change Board and lead engineering investigations to establish root cause and implement appropriate corrective/preventive actions
  • Understand the scope of goals and how much time and resources are required to achieve them
  • Establish goals and priorities for the team and communicate those in regular staff and individual meetings
  • Motivate team members and create a team environment; empower team members, drive inclusion, and effectively delegate tasks
  • Measure individual performance as it relates to business objectives
  • Identify employees strengths and development opportunities and recognize their value
  • Develop staff through training, mentoring, and work assignments; work with employees on their IDPs, and complete Training Needs Assessment (DHA)
  • Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally when circumstance permit
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications/Experience Required
  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • Experience leading a team of engineers
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience with creating Engineering Cost Estimate (ECE)
  • Experience with stress analysis of aerospace structures and/or components
  • Experience with Technical Writing
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
  • Prior Landing Gear Engineering Experience
  • Experience with ABAQUS, ANSYS or equivalent FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software
  • Experience with NASTRAN/PATRAN
  • Working Knowledge of CATIA V5 or equivalent modeling software
  • Good understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensions & tolerances) and ASME Y14.5
  • Experienced in ITAR/Export Controls regulations
  • Experience in customer interactions/customer service, ability to manage critical customer situations and calls

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
