About Innovation and Digital Partnerships

The Innovation and Global Digital Partnerships organization defines the next phase of Innovation for Visa through our global network of Innovation Centers and leads the development and commercialization of Visa products and solutions for Big Tech, Fintech and Platform partnerships.

Visa’s Innovation team drives growth and evolution of customer-centered, market-leading products and services, from the ground up. Bringing together product managers, category experts, design practitioners, strategists, and technologists, we tackle key portfolio challenges to unlock new growth opportunities and create purposeful new payment and commerce experiences to power global commerce ecosystems. 

The role will work engage across all of the emerging product Solutions Teams of the hub, and the Geography Teams in the markets, as well as with other key functions across the organization: Business Development, Finance, Global Client Management, etc. Thus, the role requires a very high degree of cross functional collaboration and engagement.

•  Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional architecture objectives
•  Makes and is accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Conducts governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
• Develop architectural and design principles to improve performance, capacity, and scalability of product.
• Maintain product roadmap and architectural standards that assure product development projects optimally align with business objective
• Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy and influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work
experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work
experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• Formal training or certification on technical architecture concepts and 10+ years applied
experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and
solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Practical cloud native experience
• Ability to define target state architectures and develop realistic transition plans for achieving target
state.
• Experience with Cloud Database technology, Transformation to the Cloud, and Domain Driven
Design
• Hands-on experience in the design and delivery of cloud-native applications
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and
operational stability with demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical
processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,
etc.
• Cloud Architect Certification preferred (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• Java application experience preferred
• Software engineering background desired
• Solid knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems


Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 250,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
