The Times Union in Albany is investing in its sales force, and we want you to be a part of it!

We are looking for a digitally savvy, highly motivated Account Executive to focus in the Albany area to join our advertising team at Times Union. As an Account Executive you will be responsible for developing and managing a sales pipeline and building new business relationships with local advertisers throughout the Albany area. You will be working with your customers to promote compelling solutions that best fit their marketing needs. As an advocate for the customer within Hearst and Times Union, the role works in cooperation with other departments to ensure we can meet and exceed customer expectations both in performance and process. This role will be a Hybrid role and will go into the Times Union office in Albany, 3 days a week. 


As an Account Executive, you can expect the following:

  • Calling on local small to medium businesses in Albany to show the value of our suite of advertising products from social media, display, video, programmatic, SEO/SEM to traditional advertisements.
  • Execute sales tactics, implement marketing strategies, and deliver effective sales presentations with passion to consistently earn, retain and increase revenue.
  • Become a valuable asset in the local business community by boosting your clients’ businesses through multiple channels.
  • Researching, prospecting, networking, cold-calling, presenting, and closing - You own the sales cycle, and have the support of your local account management team to aid in continued support after the sale!

Requirements:

  • Results oriented individual who strategically pursues business with energy and drive.
  • Media sales experience highly desirable. Prior experience with or knowledge of on-line & digital marketing is a huge plus!
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong track record of successful internal and external relationship management
  • Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York State. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York State, is $50k-$55k. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York State. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York State, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
