Equity Accountant


Job Description:

  • Record and document all equity-related transactions accurately and timely
  • Process and account for the issuance of stock, stock options, and other equity instruments
  • Administer stock option plans, including the tracking of stock options grants, exercises, and expirations
  • Calculate and report stock-based compensation expenses under ASC 718
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements disclosures related to equity accounts for internal and external reporting purposes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with the finance team, human resources, legal, and other departments to obtain necessary information for accurate equity accounting
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation and explanations related to equity accounts
  • Stay current with accounting standards, rules, and regulations related to equity accounting
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of equity-related accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide analysis and explanations for fluctuations in equity accounts
  • Assist in the communication of equity-related information to employees, such as stock option grants or vesting schedules
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of equity transactions and related activities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in equity accounting and administration

Qualification required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3 to 5 years of experience in equity accounting
  • Advance level of excel skills
  • Understanding of accounting principles and regulations related to equity transactions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills



Good to have


  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification
