Date Posted:2024-03-11 Country:United States of America Location:HOH12: Wheels & Brakes - Troy 101 Waco Street, Troy, OH, 45373 USA Position Role Type:Onsite Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Wheel Value Stream Machinist. You will be responsible for Safely set up, operate, and monitor machining, material handling, inspection and process control functions established in a manufacturing cell to accomplish the required operations. You will also be responsible for approve set up, move material between workstations within the cell and maintain work areas and machines in a clean, safe, and orderly manner and perform inspection and process checks as required. Onsite: This position will work onsite at our Troy, OH Landing Systems Headquarters. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. 3rd Shift Sunday – Thursday 11:00p.m.- 7:00a.m. Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive job assignment from supervisor or job assignment book, read standard operating procedures and routings, blueprints, Engineering Change Notices, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Engineering Specification, and any other applicable work instructions; pre-set tools and holders, set tools for operation, monitor, and maintain tooling, prepare fixtures, monitor set parameters, and otherwise assist programmer in tool life studies.
- Assure gages are calibrated (as required).
- Must be able to track the N/C program by sequence number as it is being run. If edits need to be made by the Operator, consult with Supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling of edited programs through Company quality system.
- Load and unload parts for machining as dictated by the manufacturing cell configuration and the nature of the part (by hand, hoist, or robot assist).
- Machine and deburr parts, maintain set-up, report transactions and quality information through shop floor terminal and record data or notes as assigned.
- Stamp identification code and other required information on parts, record information on SPC and/or PCL charts, record transactions/quality data, immediately report tool, gauging, or machine problems to supervisor. Stop production any time that parts are not conforming to specifications of the process and the print and contact supervisor.
- Clean and maintain work areas, machines, auxiliary equipment and common ground in cell/area utilizing appropriate equipment, so as to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
- Check and maintain operating levels of fluids and perform required daily operator TPM at each machine as specified.
- Oil machines as needed utilizing appropriate tools. Move material between workstations and cells/areas as dictated by the manufacturing cell/area configuration and the nature of the part (by hand truck, hoist, robot assist, etc.).
- Perform secondary operations as required.
- Assist in developing improved tooling and machining procedures and implement when all documentation is complete.
- Retrieve items from tool crib and complete forms/transactions as required.
- Attend training classes, cell meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Wearing of all personal protective equipment as required.
- In addition to the items subsumed in the job duties above, it should be noted that this position. Requires substantial reaching and moving while standing; lifting to 50 pounds; twisting; stooping; and response to sounds associated to the work environment.

- Typically requires a high school diploma.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

- 1+ years’ experience CNC experience.
- Capable of performing mathematical calculations requiring addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division and pass pre-employment qualification tests.
- Experience utilizing oral and written comprehension and understanding of technical documents including but not limited to routings, blueprints, Engineering process specifications and written work instructions.
- Near vision in one or both eyes corrected to 20/25 or better, checked once every two years. Color vision test normal one time only.
- Previous aerospace experience
- Experience recording and interpreting SPC (Statistical Process Control) data and take necessary corrective action.
