Job Description The Manufacturing Automation Technology Manager is an expert-level technical role that leads and supports step-change technology and process improvements in manufacturing operations to drive improved speed to market, productivity, quality, and cost. All work is accomplished with focus on promoting EHS and sustainability. Responsibilities are associated with the improvement driver areas of:
- Process standardization
- ELS fundamentals
- Data enablement
- Automation technology
- Analog to digital technology
- Manufacturing innovation
- Lean principles and application in manufacturing
- Expertise for manufacturing processes, technologies, process automation and innovation
- Engineering fundamentals
- Basic business acumen
- Technology suppliers and markets
- Project management skills
- People leadership and interpersonal skills
- Driving improvements and building operations capability for using effective problem solving and lean principles, proposing and implementing changes to work processes and new technologies
- Identification and development of technologies and process changes to reduce time and manual effort.
- Identification and development of next generation manufacturing platforms and processes, accelerating conversion to digital workflow
- Supporting technology and product roadmaps for near and long term strategy - recommending and advising on capital investments, equipment modifications, and technology improvements
- Ongoing collaboration and communication with colleagues and stakeholders across all functions to understand priority needs and opportunities and to share ideas and proposals
- Technology scouting and innovation - engage in processes to proactively identify potential solutions and partners, establish and engage in ongoing practices to build a culture that encourages trying new things and failing fast to drive rapid learning
- Project management – effectively leading project teams and proactively managing execution of priority initiatives to deliver improved processes and results
- Coaching, training, and development of required skills and capabilities in others
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or commensurate training and work experience with demonstrated technical expertise across a range of products and technologies
- Minimum 5 years related work experience with demonstrated success - manufacturing technologies, operations, process improvements, and problem solving
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to coach, train, and develop others
- Ability to effectively work, positively influence and collaborate with others
- Ability to travel when required to support business
