This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and successful TS/SCI with polygraph required Day 1 Raytheon is seeking a Satellite System Engineer to support a global data management project with regional operations.  This role will support the satellite engineering activities and operations in support of major system activities to include on-orbit operations, vehicle trending, ground system support and anomaly. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Lead activities and projects in support of satellite readiness, on-orbit operations, and program disposal. Lead activities and be responsible for transmitting, receiving, and logging satellite communications. Interact with and provide daily feedback to senior level stakeholders at both the customer and company level. Lead and maintain responsibility for all aspects of satellite state of health activities. Coordinate with space system developers and other stakeholders regarding the configuration of ground hardware for commanding capabilities. Perform analysis and technical leadership to provide anomaly resolution and resolve any system conflicts. Develop and maintain thorough documentation based on customer guidance, policies, and industry best practices. Train other personnel as required. Basic Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience working with global communications engineering projects. Identifying system issues and providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to senior level leadership team. Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers in mission operations and data analysis. Written and verbal communication skills with senior leadership and customers. Preferred Qualifications: System Integration Experience. Perl and or Python Scripting experience. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
